+<Update label="October 30, 2026" tags={["New releases","Improvements","Bug fixes"]} rss={{ title:"Mintlify Base beta, mint migrate, mint instructions, and more" }}>
+
+ ## Base
+
+ - **Mintlify Base (beta):** A [base](/base/index) is a new project type for your team's internal knowledge, such as specs, runbooks, and onboarding guides. Your team and its agents update a base from the editor, the admin MCP, Slack, or Git.
+ - **Share base pages to the web:** After an admin turns on public links, share a base page with people outside your organization through a public link that also serves a Markdown version for AI tools. See [Share a page to the web](/base/index#share-a-page-to-the-web). Available on Pro and Enterprise plans.
+
+ ## Autopilot
+
+ - **GitLab projects:** Autopilot works with repositories on GitLab and uses the GitLab projects you choose as context. See [GitLab projects](/autopilot#gitlab-projects).
+ - **Chat in Slack:** Mention `@mintlify` or message the Mintlify app to ask Autopilot questions from Slack. Admins and editors can also change its setup. See [Chat in Slack](/autopilot#chat-in-slack).
+ - **Pull request comments:** Comment on an Autopilot pull request on GitHub, and Autopilot pushes the requested changes to the same branch and replies in the thread. See [Continue a conversation anywhere](/autopilot#continue-a-conversation-anywhere).
+ - **Multi-repository sites:** Autopilot works on docs sites built from [multiple repositories](/deploy/multi-repo). Available on Enterprise plans.
+
+ ## CLI
+
+ - **`mint migrate`:** Print step-by-step instructions for migrating content to Mintlify from 21 sources, such as Docusaurus, GitBook, ReadMe, Notion, and PDFs. Pass the `--agent` flag to have Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or Gemini run the migration. See [`mint migrate`](/cli/commands#mint-migrate).
+ - **`mint instructions`:** Coding agents can look up how to do common Mintlify tasks, such as publishing a new site or adding a custom domain, instead of relying on their training data. See [`mint instructions`](/cli/commands#mint-instructions).
+ - **`mint agent setup`:** Install Mintlify skills and connect the admin MCP for Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor with one command. See [`mint agent setup`](/cli/commands#mint-agent-setup).
+ - **`mint validate` rules:** `mint validate` checks for content that builds but doesn't render correctly and lists each finding with its file, line, and rule. Repair common issues with `--fix`, choose rules with `--enable` and `--disable`, and get a JSON report with `--format json`. See [`mint validate`](/cli/commands#mint-validate).
+ - **Agent signup:** A coding agent can create and deploy a site with `mint deploy` before you have an account, including on every push from GitHub Actions. Claim the site with `mint claim`. See [Agent signup](/cli/agent-signup).
+
+ ## Editor
+
+ - **Switch repositories:** In a multi-repository project, pick a repository from the menu above your pages to edit its pages, files, and branches. See [Edit sources in the web editor](/deploy/multi-repo#edit-sources-in-the-web-editor). Available on Enterprise plans.
+ - **Unpublished changes in the sidebar:** Sidebar pages show an **Edited** or **Unpublished** badge until you publish them. Projects with auto publish don't show the badges.
+ - **Agent branches:** Ask the agent to list, create, or switch branches, and it reads, edits, and publishes on the branch it switched to. See [Work on other branches](/editor/agent#work-on-other-branches).
+ - **Components defined in a page:** Source mode autocompletes and describes components you define in the page, and jumps to their definitions with <kbd>F12</kbd> or <kbd>Cmd</kbd> + click. See [Source mode shortcuts](/editor/keyboard-shortcuts#source-mode).
+ - **New pages at the top:** The **New page** button adds pages to the top of your navigation. See [Create a page](/editor/pages#create-a-page).
+ - **Move:** The page menu's **Move within project** option is now **Move**. See [Move a page](/editor/pages#move-a-page).
+ - **Copy tables:** Copy a table as CSV, JSON, Markdown, YAML, XML, or TOON from its block menu.
+ - **Auto publish timing:** With auto publish on, the editor commits about a minute after you stop editing. See [Auto publish](/editor/publish#auto-publish).
+
+ ## AI and MCP
+
+ - **Page history:** The admin MCP's `read_page_history` tool lists a page's saved versions and returns the content of any version. See [Content](/ai/mintlify-mcp#content).
+ - **Pages from uploaded files:** Upload a local Markdown file and pass its `uploadId` to `write_page` or `create_node` instead of sending the full page content. See [Uploads](/ai/mintlify-mcp#uploads).
+ - **Inbox:** The admin MCP's `read_inbox` tool lists comments, mentions, suggested edits, and invitations to your organization and to pages. See [Comments](/ai/mintlify-mcp#comments).
+ - **Mintlify skill:** The admin MCP's `read_skill` tool reads Mintlify's guide to writing docs, plus your organization's and your own agent skills. See [Mintlify skill](/ai/mintlify-mcp#mintlify-skill).
+ - **Read-only connections:** Send the `x-mintlify-toolset: knowledge` header to limit an admin MCP connection to search and read tools. See [Limit a connection to search and read tools](/ai/mintlify-mcp#limit-a-connection-to-search-and-read-tools).
+ - **Default project:** On a connection with access to a single project, read tools no longer need a `subdomain`. See [How editing works](/ai/mintlify-mcp#how-editing-works).
+ - **Projects with auto publish:** In projects with auto publish, the admin MCP commits edits to your deploy branch and doesn't create branches. See [Projects with auto publish](/ai/mintlify-mcp#projects-with-auto-publish).
+
+ ### Breaking change
+
+ - **Admin MCP upload tools renamed:** `upload_image` is now `upload_file`, and `finalize_image_upload` is now `finalize_file_upload`. Update prompts or scripts that call the old names. See [Uploads](/ai/mintlify-mcp#uploads).
+
+ ## Published sites
+
+ - **Emails authentication:** Invite readers outside your organization by email, and Mintlify hosts their sign-in with a password or a one-time code. See [Emails authentication](/deploy/emails-authentication). Contact sales to turn it on for your site.
+ - **Full-page search results:** Turn on **Full-page search results** in your [Site](https://app.mintlify.com/settings/project/site) settings to give readers a search results page at `/search` that they can bookmark and share. See [Full-page search results](/optimize/search#full-page-search-results).
+ - **Navigate from custom scripts:** Call `window.mintlify.navigate` to send readers to another page without a full reload. See [Navigate to another page](/customize/custom-scripts#navigate-to-another-page).
+ - **Markdown export:** In `.md` pages, cards, accordions, and tabs render as blockquotes that open with `[card]`, `[accordion]`, or `[tab]`, so AI tools can tell them apart. Props written as JSX, such as a `Tooltip`'s `tip`, render as Markdown. See [Components](/ai/markdown-export#components).
+ - **Go SDK references:** Go packages that mix kinds group their pages under Interfaces, Structs, Types, and Functions. Pass `-exclude-symbols` to the extractor to leave symbols out. See [Generated pages](/api-playground/sdk-reference-setup#generated-pages).
+ - **TypeDoc overview pages:** TypeDoc artifacts with a README get an overview page that indexes the library's symbols. See [Generated pages](/api-playground/sdk-reference-setup#generated-pages).
+
+ ## Improvements
+
+ - **Desktop app tabs:** Tabs signed in to different organizations work side by side. In the editor, <kbd>Cmd</kbd> + click a link to one of your pages to open that page in a new tab, or right-click it to open it in a new tab or window.
+ - **Thumbs-only feedback:** The feedback export API includes thumbs up and thumbs down votes submitted without a comment. See [Get feedback](/api/analytics/feedback).
+ - **Site settings:** The project **General** settings page is now called **Site**.
+ - **Previews when you turn on authentication:** Turning on authentication through the API or admin MCP deletes previews that don't have authentication, matching the dashboard. To keep them, pass `previewDeployments: "keep"`.
+ - **Deleted subdomains:** After you delete a project, Mintlify reserves its subdomain for your organization for 30 days. See [Delete a project](/deploy/deployments#delete-a-project).
+
+ ## Bug fixes
+
+ - **Editor:** Code blocks you type with three backticks in a list item stay in that list item. Cards render inside custom components in visual mode, table cell selections stay after you drag, and custom component previews load your fonts and repository CSS. Character references and hidden export blocks survive saves and deletions. Parent page titles show in the sidebar after you refresh. The editor keeps syncing when browser storage stops accepting writes, and <kbd>Cmd</kbd> + <kbd>J</kbd> toggles the agent while you type in it.
+ - **Published sites:** Static files load on sites with authentication on custom domains. RSS feeds work on sites with authentication. Go references no longer repeat description sentences and render GitHub alerts as callouts. Sphinx references keep their module navigation and type links.
+ - **CLI:** `mint validate` no longer crashes during connectivity checks. `mint dev` picks up snippet edits you made while it was stopped. MDX parse errors suggest escaping `<`.
+ - **Dashboard:** The sign-in page explains when your organization requires SSO.
+ - **Desktop app:** Session refreshes no longer clear stored data or reload your tabs.

  ## AI and MCP

  - **Admin MCP editing:** `edit_page` applies up to 100 replacements in one call, `create_node` writes into a page that already exists at the path, and `write_page` and `edit_page` report markup the editor drops. See [Content](/ai/mintlify-mcp#content).
  - **Admin MCP navigation:** `list_nodes` returns fewer fields for each node and leaves out uploaded files unless you filter for them. Update scripts that read other fields. `list_deployments` returns each project's `projectType`. See [Navigation](/ai/mintlify-mcp#navigation).
  - **Admin MCP deploy status:** `deployment_status` reports whether published changes are live, and `suggest_edit` accepts a `comment` that explains the change. See [Branches and publishing](/ai/mintlify-mcp#branches-and-publishing).

  ## Bug fixes

  - **Editor:** Imported `.md` files parse as Markdown, and Notion Markdown exports are cleaned up on import. HTML links to sections on the same page scroll in visual mode. Bold and italic formatting stays after you post a comment. New branches no longer reuse names of deleted branches. Interrupted agent responses reconnect. OpenAPI page descriptions render components. Typing `---` in source mode starts frontmatter. Template literals inside HTML no longer gain indentation when you save, and inline HTML tables keep their layout when you click a cell.
  - **Published sites:** Switching versions keeps you on the same page when the other version files it elsewhere. Price-like dollar amounts render as text instead of math. Scrolling in Safari continues over horizontal scrollbars. MCP discovery documents use your custom domain. On sites with authentication, the contextual menu's MCP options point to the authenticated MCP server. RSS items keep their original dates. Tailwind classes passed through variables and expressions get their styles.
  - **API playground:** Request examples use server variable defaults when the playground is hidden. Requests without a body sent through the playground proxy no longer fail with `415` errors.
  - **Previews:** **View Preview** links open the preview's home page when the linked page isn't in the build. Leftover previews from a previous repository no longer block new previews.
  - **Offline exports:** API playground icons load from the export.
  - **Desktop app:** Switching organizations no longer reloads every tab. Tabs show the editor branch, and new tabs keep your theme.
  - **Dashboard:** **Visit page** stays disabled until your site's first build is live. Pending custom domains appear in your custom domain settings. Choosing no spend limit no longer turns off overages. Projects you delete leave the project list right away, and a new project that reuses a deleted project's subdomain starts with an empty editor.
  - **Automations:** Scheduled **Update from code changes** runs no longer skip commits that are pushed after their commit date.

  ## OpenAPI Overlays

  - **Transform a spec:** Use OpenAPI Overlays to rename paths, replace server URLs, or remove internal endpoints without editing the specification file. Overlays apply after a specification is parsed and before it is validated, so generated endpoint pages, navigation, `openapi` frontmatter, and `mint validate` all use the transformed document.
