fix(webhook): claim, lease and log every object in a coalesced batch - #919
defangdevs wants to merge 2 commits into
Conversation
The dispatcher exports only the newest event's meta, so a batch holding several assignments seeded a claim, lease and spawn-log entry for the last object alone (#887). agent-box-webhook-spawn now reads an optional LOCAL_WEBHOOK_SPAWN_METAS array (one meta per surviving event; upstream ask: local-channels#101), claims the union of the objects, names them all in the note, and records an `objects` list in the lease and the spawn log. Without the variable, or with an unusable one, the single meta behaves exactly as before. Not done here: per-object disposition that survives `rm` (the second comment on #887) and split-before-spawn; both need a design decision. also lists an object when a multi-event batch contains an identified object
absent from the newest event’s note, even if objects has only one entry.
Preserve the existing behavior for batches with multiple objects.

invocation to slurp stdin and accept input only when it contains exactly one
valid batch array that meets the existing size and object checks; otherwise use
the LOCAL_WEBHOOK_SPAWN_META fallback. Ensure empty or whitespace-only input and

…ject Review findings on #919: whitespace-only or two-array LOCAL_WEBHOOK_SPAWN_METAS bypassed the single-meta fallback, and an earlier object beside a newest event that names none was claimed but not named in the note. No. Coalescing is specific to github webhooks. We should spool events separately: events for one repo/pr/issue should not get combined with events for another repo/pr/issue. Of course, a session might be subscribed to multiple events, in which case events get delivered to the same session, but this relies on an explicit subscription. There's an optimization where we coalesce events from same PR or issue, but I'm not sure whether that's worth it. As it stands, the spool has very little overhead. |

Symptom (#887): a coalesced webhook batch with several assigned objects seeded the ownership claim, the lease and the spawn log for the newest object only. The earlier objects stayed unclaimed until the model repaired it.
What changes
webhook-spawn.shreads an optionalLOCAL_WEBHOOK_SPAWN_METASarray (one meta per surviving event). The claim is the de-duplicated union of each event's own claim; the note lists every object.objectsarray (objectstays the newest number, so readers keep working).recentHookSessionsshows them.LOCAL_WEBHOOK_SPAWN_META, byte-identical to before. A batch of one is unchanged. Not in this PR (so #887 stays open)
agent-box-session rm(the partial-completion case in the 2026-10-23 comment).rmstill clears the lease unconditionally; fixing that needs a design choice (disposition file vs refusingrmwith unresolved objects, or splitting batches).Checks
