Pro card copy states the problem (who let the agent do that), what is included, and that access is design-partner by request. Adds pro_click on the Request Pro button. Homepage and smoke specs pass; one webkit replay test flaked once and passed on rerun. Auto-merge left off for review.

Thanks,
Gerard Recinto

The card now says who Pro is for and what the audit trail answers. The note under the button says Pro is design-partner access today.

Gemini PR Review

Reviewed commit: 1cc2182d7af37c1e26591424a102fe4e9e6af80b
Verdict: FAIL

  • demo/index.html: The addition of track('pro_click') to the onclick handler assumes the track JavaScript function is globally available and correctly defined. If this function is not guaranteed to exist or load properly in all environments, calling it will result in a JavaScript error, which could prevent the subsequent openProCheckoutModal() function from executing. This is a potential correctness bug or unhandled edge case.

  1. Finding: "The addition of track('pro_click') to the onclick handler assumes the track JavaScript function is globally available and correctly defined. If this function is not guaranteed to exist or load properly in all environments, calling it will result in a JavaScript error, which could prevent the subsequent openProCheckoutModal() function from executing."
  2. Reference: track in demo/index.html, line 49; the Pro button onclick in the pricing card.
  3. Claim status: Inferred. The finding says "if this function is not guaranteed to exist". It does not show a path where it is missing.
  4. Evidence: function track(name) { try { window.plausible(name); } catch (e) {} } is declared in an inline script in the page head, line 49, before any button can be clicked. A function declaration is hoisted and global. The same track(...) call pattern already ships on master in Add analytics events, Get Pro header button, hero quickstart, and fix Pro status in pricing doc #616 (header Get Pro button).
  5. Docs: none needed, this is standard function hoisting in a classic script.
  6. Reachability: the call cannot throw. If the analytics script is blocked or missing, window.plausible is undefined, the TypeError is caught inside track, and openProCheckoutModal() still runs.
  7. Tests: the Playwright specs in this PR click the Request Pro button and assert the modal opens; they pass on chromium, firefox and webkit.
  8. Compensating control: the try/catch inside track itself.
  9. Requested resolution: mark the finding not applicable on the current commit.

Correction to point 7 of the dispute: the Playwright specs that click the Request Pro button and open the modal (tests/homepage.spec.ts, around lines 213 to 229) already exist on master. This PR does not change tests. On this commit they pass on chromium, firefox and webkit. The mobile-chrome and mobile-safari failures are the header overflow from #616, fixed in #619.

Verdict: PASS

  • demo/index.html: The disputed finding regarding the track('pro_click') call potentially breaking openProCheckoutModal() is withdrawn. The evidence provided in the dispute, which describes the track function's declaration including a try...catch block around window.plausible and its placement before any button clicks, demonstrates that track handles errors gracefully and will not prevent openProCheckoutModal() from executing. The function is globally available and its errors are contained.
