What does this PR do?

This pull request removes TravisCI, coveralls and scrutinizer configs as they are no longer used. It also adds PHP 8.2, 8.3, 8.4, & 8.5 to the build matrix

More importantly this pull request updates getQueryParams and getQueryParamsCollapsed to allow for malformed URLs. These include urls that end in trailing & (?foo=bar&) Urls that have query strings that begin with an & (?&foo=bar). Also in PHP 8, parse_url returns an empty string instead of null if the queryString is empty, i.e the url ends with a ?

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Bug Fixes
    • URLs with empty or whitespace-only query strings now return no query parameters, matching URLs without a query string. This applies whether parameters are requested in their original form or in collapsed form. Malformed URLs that do not produce a valid query string also return no parameters.
    • Empty query components, such as those created by leading or trailing ampersands, are omitted. Components with only an empty name or only an empty value continue to be processed.

Walkthrough

The pull request updates the PHP workflow and repository configuration. Both HTTP query-parameter methods now return empty arrays for whitespace-only queries and skip query segments where both the name and value are empty. Tests cover empty and malformed URLs, plus leading and trailing ampersands.

Changes

CI and repository configuration

Layer / File(s) Summary
Update PHP workflow matrix
.github/workflows/php.yml
The workflow uses ubuntu-latest and adds PHP 8.2 through 8.5 to the existing version matrix.
Remove legacy configuration and metadata
.travis.yml, .scrutinizer.yml, .coveralls.yml, composer.json, .gitignore
The Travis, Scrutinizer, and Coveralls configuration files and Composer authors metadata are removed. .gitignore adds a dot-prefixed path pattern with exceptions for /.github/ and .gitattributes.

Empty query handling

Layer / File(s) Summary
Handle empty query components
src/Util/Http.php, tests/Util/HttpTest.php
Both query-parameter methods return empty arrays for whitespace-only queries and skip components where the name and value are both empty. Tests cover empty and malformed URLs, and leading or trailing ampersands.

The query-handling changes have no established merge-blocking defect. Newly added dotfile configuration still requires explicit staging awareness; ordinary workflow files are unaffected. Mergeable subject to normal CI checks.

Declare read-only workflow permissions.

This workflow runs on push to master and pull_request, but it does not declare permissions. No visible step requires write access. Set contents: read to prevent repository defaults from granting broader token access.

src/Util/Http.php (1)

175-175: Preserve the non-string fallback in both methods.

parse_url() may return false for a seriously malformed URL. These guards then pass false to explode(); in coercive mode, the parser treats it as '' and returns an empty-name parameter instead of []. Keep the empty-string case and return [] for non-string results. (php.net)

Also applies to: 226-226

tests/Util/HttpTest.php (1)

316-316: Exercise getQueryParamsCollapsed() in this test.

This test calls Http::getQueryParams(), so it does not cover the changed guard in getQueryParamsCollapsed(). Call the collapsed method and update @covers to ::getQueryParamsCollapsed.
