Let users verify their email address and mobile number from their account - #47
Lets a signed-in user verify their own email address or mobile number from their account, using the server's SELF_SERVICE attribute verification flow (thunder-id/thunderid#6050).
Client: verifyAttribute starts the flow by handle (default default-self-attribute-verification-flow) with the user's token, and a payload variant continues it. A refused step surfaces as a verification error.
UserProfile exposes verifiedAttributes from /users/me.
Compose VerifyAttribute and BaseVerifyAttribute render each step from the flow response, with a custom render through content. UserProfile shows each contact's verification status and offers Verify for an unverified one, including right after the user changes it.
Verification strings in every shipped locale, a capability check and playground stories with a Custom rendering variant.
Approach
Follows the specification in thunder-id/thunderid#5905 and matches the JavaScript port (thunder-id/javascript-sdks#145). Verification posts to /flow/execute through the shared HTTP client, like the other flows. A flow is started once per showing, since a start sends a message; overlapping submits are ignored; failures show a translated generic message.
The SDK adds self-service attribute-verification requests and Compose verification UI. UserProfile displays verification status and opens verification after eligible email saves. Playground stories and checks expose the flow, and tests cover requests, UI state, and profile updates.

The SDK adds verification metadata and eligibility rules, verified profile data, and self-service flow start and continuation requests. It maps configured refusal responses to VERIFICATION_FAILED and adds tests for requests, eligibility, and error handling.
Verification flow state and UI src/main/kotlin/dev/thunderid/compose/ThunderIDState.kt, components/account/VerifyAttribute.kt, components/auth/SignIn.kt, i18n/DefaultStrings.kt, src/test/kotlin/dev/thunderid/compose/components/account/VerifyAttributeTest.kt
The Compose controller starts and continues verification, exposes flow state and actions, and reloads the profile after completion or link confirmation. The UI renders steps and resend actions; tests cover flow behavior and callbacks.
Profile verification status and actions src/main/kotlin/dev/thunderid/compose/components/account/UserProfileVerification.kt, UserProfile.kt, src/test/kotlin/dev/thunderid/compose/components/account/UserProfileVerificationTest.kt
UserProfile displays verification status and eligible actions, opens a verification dialog, and starts verification after qualifying email saves. Tests cover status, save outcomes, and state transitions.
Playground stories, checks, and rendering playground/README.md, playground/src/main/kotlin/dev/thunderid/playground/*
The playground adds verification stories, a custom-rendering card, and a session check that reports verifiable attributes and their status. Documentation describes the verification state available to custom content.

The playground's Code panel shows a verification snippet that does not compile when copied. Fixing it is a small edit and does not affect SDK behavior or the verification flow itself.

Explanation
The description is complete and covers the purpose, approach, related issues and PRs, implementation scope, testing, manual validation, security, and SDK parity. The documentation checkbox and integration-test checkbox remain unchecked, and the required cross-SDK parity label is not confirmed, but the description is otherwise sufficiently detailed.

Explanation
Docstring coverage is 71.05% which is insufficient. The required threshold is 80.00%. Docstring coverage is scoped to functions touched by this diff with cyclomatic complexity of at least 2. Documentation-only edits and deletions within surviving functions are included; unchanged diff context and fully deleted functions are excluded. Analyzed 38 functions across 18 files. (1 skipped: 1 unsupported.)
Resolution
Write docstrings for the functions missing them to satisfy the coverage threshold.

Browser sign-in sends JSON instead of form-encoded token requests, resulting in 400 errors.
For verification only, I temporarily added a Proof sign-in button to the Playground to complete the authorization code + PKCE flow and store valid tokens. The verification feature was then tested against the unchanged SDK.
The workaround was removed and is not included in this PR.
