bug: continue on amount slides to a duplicate amount screen first #1632

Open

Description

@ovitrif

What happened?

On Bitkit Android 3.0.1 (195), paying a Paykit USDT request for a Shop order: after tapping Continue on the Amount step, the sheet slides to a second, duplicate Amount screen whose bottom button shows a progress spinner, and only then on to the Payment Request confirm screen. It only happens on the first pass: after a later bounce back to Amount (expired fee quote), Continue went straight to Confirm.

Amount step, Continue, the duplicate Amount screen with the spinner, then Confirm (contact, address and balance masked):

Expected behavior

  • No slide to a duplicate Amount screen.
  • While the payment is prepared, the Continue button itself shows the loader.
  • The slide goes straight to Confirm, where Show Details is available.

    Scope so far: the duplicate Amount screen shows only on the first USDT pass. On a bitcoin-priced request (about 23:23 CEST) Continue went straight to Confirm, and after the expired-fee-quote bounce (#1630) it did too.

    Root cause: Continue on Amount navigates to the USDT review, and PaykitUsdtReview starts quoting the fee there. Until the quote arrives, UsdtPaymentContent renders its own Amount page with the Continue button loading, which is the duplicate Amount screen. After the expired-quote bounce the quote came back quickly, so the second pass didn't show it.

    Fix in progress: #1638. While a payment request's fee is quoted, the review shows a loading confirmation (amount, request summary and a loading swipe) instead of the Amount page. Fixed requests also open on the review directly, without passing through Amount.

    Replaced the video in the description with a re-masked one: the masks now follow the screen through each slide, so the balance and the contact no longer show while the Amount screen slides in.
