This pull request introduces several enhancements and updates to the SKALE node deployment and cleanup processes, as well as improvements to configuration management and dependency versions. The most important changes are grouped below by theme.

Deployment and Configuration Improvements:

  • The dev inventory template (skale-nodes/ansible/inventory-template/dev) has been significantly expanded with new configuration options, improved documentation, and default values for various deployment parameters such as build_type, node_type, anvil, chain_name, and more. This makes node setup more flexible and easier to customize.
  • The environment variable SCHAIN_NAME is now correctly set from chain_name in the configuration role, ensuring consistency in naming conventions.
  • The requirements for skale.py have been updated from 7.6dev5 to 7.11dev6, ensuring the use of newer features and bug fixes.

Chain Creation Logic:

  • The chain creation script (create_chain.py) now uses a new get_default_schain_options() function to set default options such as min_gas_price, max_gas_price, and external_gas_difficulty before chain creation, allowing for more flexible and explicit configuration of chain parameters. [1] [2]

Container and Resource Cleanup:

  • The cleanup tasks now include logic to check for the existence of the docker-lvmpy systemd service before attempting to stop it, preventing errors if the service is missing.
  • Cleanup now includes stopping and removing the anvil container and its state directory if anvil is enabled, ensuring proper resource cleanup.
  • The main cleanup task no longer skips docker-lvmpy cleanup for passive nodes, ensuring all relevant resources are cleaned up regardless of node type.

Service Image Updates:

  • The Redis service images in both docker-compose.yml.j2 and docker-compose-fair.yml.j2 have been updated to redis:8.4.0-alpine for improved performance and security. [1] [2]
  • The Filebeat image has been updated to elastic/filebeat:9.1.5 in the main compose template, ensuring the latest features and fixes.

Other Notable Changes:

  • Added a new playbook import for setup.yaml in skale_node_passive.yaml to ensure passive node setup includes all necessary steps.
  • Added a conditional pause after SGX certificate exchange to avoid unnecessary delays on passive nodes.

Let me know if you have any questions about these changes or need clarification on how they impact your workflow!
