Summary

Two small accuracy fixes in the English README that I noticed while reviewing the project before installing it:

  • Provider count: README says "56 providers", but ProviderId in rust/src/core/provider.rs currently has 89 variants and rust/src/providers/ has 83 provider modules. I changed it to "80+" so it doesn't go stale every release. Happy to switch to an exact number if you prefer.
  • VC++ runtime: README mentions a "VC++ runtime bootstrap", but release builds link the C runtime statically (scripts/windows-release-build.ps1:285 sets +crt-static, enforced by scripts/verify-windows-executables.ps1), and the Inno script doesn't bundle a VC++ redistributable. I reworded the line to say no redistributable is needed.

Notes for reviewers

Left alone on purpose, since you may want them handled differently:

  • The localized READMEs (README.*.md) carry the same "56" count and the VC++ wording. The Chinese ones also mention a Visual C++ bootstrapper in the installer section.
  • scripts/windows-release-build.ps1:25 help text still mentions re-downloading the "VC++ bootstrapper".
  • docs/PORTING.md "Last landed baseline" still says v0.55.0, while CHANGELOG.md says 0.70.0 ports up to upstream 0.70.0.

Happy to follow up on any of these.
