Summary

Synchronize vs with the latest changes from main, preserving both branches' history. The merge is conflict-free and introduces no additional source changes.

This PR was investigated and created by GitHub Copilot (in VS Code). Any message starting with ✨Copilot: was sent by Copilot.

Validation

  • TypeScript compilation and ESLint passed.
  • All 215 extension unit tests and 27 focused acquisition, lockfile, and component-manifest tests passed.
  • Lockfile and component-manifest verification passed.
  • Verified both merge parents and the canonical result tree, which matches the captured main tree.

Use the existing Linux, macOS, and Windows validation workflows with target-ref pinned to this PR's exact source revision. Their automatic PR triggers exclude vs; CodeQL includes it.
