JDK 20 is a non-LTS release that is long out of support; 21 and 25 are the current LTS releases (the release workflow already builds on 21). JaCoCo 0.8.7 cannot read class files newer than Java 16 and logged ~1500 errors on JDK 20; 0.8.15 supports up to Java 25. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

The Java Build matrix ran JDK 8, 11, 17 and 20. JDK 20 is a non-LTS release that went out of support in 2023, while 21 and 25 (the current LTS releases) were not tested at all, although the release workflow already builds on 21.
Unsupported class file major versionerrors; 0.8.15 supports up to Java 25. JaCoCo only instruments the tests, the published jar is unaffected.🤖 Generated with Claude Code
