jr is a small native launcher for Java apps on Windows and macOS. Your jar gets its own exe or Mac app with your name and icon. jr finds Java or downloads it, starts the app faster from the second run, and can update it in place.

- jr: the launcher, for Windows (x64, ARM64) and macOS (Apple silicon, Intel).
- jr-maven-plugin: builds your app's own exe and macOS app from
mvn package. - jr-apputils: gives your app its own
installandupdatecommands, with no installer. - aot: trains a useful AOT cache on your whole app, not on
--help.
How jr is built: jr is written in Java and compiled to a native program through TeaVM's C backend, with teavm-c-maven-plugin, teavm-native-check, bindings generated by our jextract fork, and our TeaVM fork.
