Summary by CodeRabbit
Bug Fixes
Relative configuration files and Lua/WASM scripts now resolve consistently from the configuration file’s directory, rather than potentially using a same-named file in the working directory.
Improved handling of paths that cannot fit in the available buffer.
Tests
Added coverage for configuration includes and Lua scripts when the configuration and working directories differ.
The change adds a shared configuration-path resolver. Configuration readers and Lua, WASM, and FTS script loaders use it to select paths relative to the configuration file. New integration tests check include and script selection when matching files exist in both the configuration and working directories.
Adds flb_utils_resolve_config_path. It preserves absolute paths, constructs a candidate beside conf_path, and returns the original path when the candidate is absent.
Lua, WASM, and FTS resolve script paths against the configuration path. Integration tests check that Lua and FTS use the script in the configuration directory.
fluent/fluent-bit#12589: Adds the FTS processor and script runtime that this change updates.

Merge Risk: Low · up to 8e5db
A parser path could fail to load if supplied with a configuration directory lacking a trailing separator. Current runtime producers include the separator, so this does not appear to block merging.

Full details: Title check
Explanation
The title names a real part of the change: a path-resolution fix for relative files that gives configuration-directory precedence. The changeset adds flb_utils_resolve_config_path and applies it across Lua, WASM, FTS, config loading, parser, plugin, upstream, and stream-processor code. The title is partly specific and partly jargon-heavy. It says 'shadowed relative files' and 'path-shadowing mitigation', which describes the intent but not the exact behavior, and it omits that the main configuration file keeps its existing resolution. Its wording is also not concise: it uses a 'utils: plugins:' prefix and a long phrase. A teammate scanning history would still learn the primary topic.
Full details: Docstring Coverage
Explanation
Docstring coverage is 53.33% which is insufficient. The required threshold is 80.00%. Docstring coverage is scoped to functions touched by this diff with cyclomatic complexity of at least 2. Documentation-only edits and deletions within surviving functions are included; unchanged diff context and fully deleted functions are excluded. Analyzed 15 functions across 15 files.
Resolution
Write docstrings for the functions missing them to satisfy the coverage threshold.

Reuse flb_utils_resolve_config_path() here instead of a second manual concatenation.
flb_parser_conf_file_stat() selects the path with the shared resolver. This line then rebuilds the same path with "%s%s". The resolver inserts a / when conf_path has no trailing separator. This snprintf does not.
If conf_path lacks a trailing separator, stat succeeds on dir/file and the function returns -2. This line then builds dirfile, and the load fails. Current producers of conf_path append the separator, so the failure is latent. The precedence rule now exists in two places that can diverge.

Review comment at @src/flb_parser.c at line 1724:
Replace the manual path concatenation in the flb_parser_conf_file_stat() flow
with flb_utils_resolve_config_path(), using config->conf_path and the existing
tmp buffer; handle a failed resolution by returning -1.

Fixed main-config resolution: config_format/flb_cf_fluentbit.c:445 only included files receive config-directory precedence.
Added a regression test using
config/main.confwith a conflictingconfig/config/main.conf. It failed before the fix and passes afterward.Verification: build passed, 10 focused CTest cases passed, and all 5 integration cases passed both normally and under strict Valgrind. No blockers.
