|---|---|
Filter and input TLS configuration plugins/filter_kubernetes/kube_meta.c, plugins/filter_nightfall/*, plugins/in_kubernetes_events/kubernetes_events_conf.c |
Nightfall adds the tls.verify_hostname option, defaulting to off. Filter and input TLS setup applies the configured hostname-verification setting. |
OAuth2 output-instance API and upstream setup include/fluent-bit/flb_oauth2.h, src/flb_oauth2.c |
OAuth2 creation and upstream setup now receive an output instance. HTTPS upstream setup applies its hostname-verification setting. |
OAuth2 callers and constructor tests plugins/out_azure_kusto/azure_kusto.c, plugins/out_azure_logs_ingestion/azure_logs_ingestion_conf.c, plugins/out_bigquery/bigquery.c, plugins/out_gcs/gcs.c, plugins/out_http/http_conf.c, plugins/out_opentelemetry/opentelemetry_conf.c, plugins/out_stackdriver/stackdriver.c, src/wasm/http_client.c, tests/internal/oauth2.c |
Output plugins and the WASM stub use the output-instance OAuth2 API. OAuth2 tests check hostname-verification propagation for both constructors. |
Output service and AWS TLS contexts plugins/out_cloudwatch_logs/cloudwatch_logs.c, plugins/out_es/es_conf.c, plugins/out_kinesis_firehose/firehose.c, plugins/out_kinesis_streams/kinesis.c, plugins/out_opensearch/os_conf.c, plugins/out_bigquery/bigquery.c, plugins/out_s3/s3.c, src/aws/flb_aws_credentials.c |
Service, credential-provider, and STS TLS contexts apply configured hostname-verification settings. Elasticsearch HA nodes combine output and node settings. |
Authorization endpoint transport and TLS settings plugins/out_azure_blob/azure_blob_conf.c, plugins/out_s3/s3.c, tests/runtime/out_s3.c |
Azure Blob and S3 authorization endpoints select TCP or TLS from the URL scheme and use output TLS settings. S3 runtime tests check hostname-verification propagation and CA settings. |
Chronicle initialization cleanup
| Layer / File(s) | Summary |
|---|---|
Shared Chronicle initialization error path plugins/out_chronicle/chronicle.c |
Upstream creation, OAuth2 creation, and legacy log-type validation failures now use shared cleanup for the Chronicle context and related resources. |
OpenTelemetry conditional declaration
| Layer / File(s) | Summary |
|---|---|
Guard the signature declaration plugins/out_opentelemetry/opentelemetry.c |
The signature local declaration is conditional on both AWS and SignV4 support. |

responsible for hostname verification.

- Line 2952: Update the HTTPS authorization setup in the S3 code so certificate
verification uses tls_verify independently of tls_verify_hostname, and pass
tls_ca_path and tls_ca_file regardless of hostname verification. Keep hostname
verification controlled separately.

🟡 Minor · Do not apply output TLS settings to the HTTP configuration endpoint. · azure_blob_conf.c:375-398
plugins/out_azure_blob/azure_blob_conf.c:375-398
🩺 Stability & Availability | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick winDo not apply output TLS settings to the HTTP configuration endpoint.
The PR base created a TLS context with verification disabled and no CA settings, then used
FLB_IO_TCP. The head still creates that context unconditionally, but it now passes the output instance's verification and CA settings. When Azure service TLS is disabled and
configuration_endpoint_urluseshttp://, an invalid CA path or file can makeflb_tls_create()fail and abort startup before the plaintext upstream is created. Apply the output TLS settings only whenio_flags == FLB_IO_TLS. Keep the context allocation because the current cleanup paths unconditionally callflb_tls_destroy(tls_context).Suggested fix

Review comment at @plugins/out_azure_blob/azure_blob_conf.c around lines 375 - 398: Update the TLS setup before `flb_upstream_create_url` so `flb_tls_create` receives the output instance’s verification and CA settings, and `flb_tls_set_verify_hostname` is applied, only when `io_flags == FLB_IO_TLS`; use disabled verification and no CA settings otherwise. Keep allocating `tls_context` in both cases because cleanup unconditionally destroys it.

For deployments using this patch, enable
tls.verify_hostname: onon the affected components and keeptls.verify: on. The setting alone is insufficient on an unpatched release.Verification passed: full build with
FLB_OUT_PGSQL=Off, focused TLS CTest, S3 runtime regression, 26 functional integration cases, and 10 focused integration cases under strict Valgrind. The Chronicle Valgrind run initially found a startup cleanup leak; I fixed it and the final combined Valgrind run passed all 10 cases. The build usedFLB_OUT_PGSQL=Offbecause this environment lacks the-lpqlinker dependency. The integration tests used a temporary Python 3.12 environment because the existing Python 3.14 environment cannot import the pinned protobuf package.Enter
