I'm Firas, an AI/software engineer with a curiosity that extends beyond writing code. I'm interested in understanding how technology works, why engineering decisions matter, and how thoughtful software can solve real problems.
I enjoy taking an idea from a blank screen to a working application: exploring the problem, making technical decisions, designing the user experience, implementing the solution, and figuring out what it takes to make the result useful.
Over time, building personal projects has become more than a way to practice programming. It's how I challenge my assumptions, experiment with new technologies, discover my strengths, and become a better engineer.
I don't expect to know everything before I start building. I'd rather explore, experiment, encounter the hard parts, and learn enough to make better decisions the next time around.
My goal is to become the kind of engineer who can turn complex ideas into useful, reliable, and thoughtfully designed products.
- Building real products: Strengthening my software engineering skills by creating applications from the ground up.
- Exploring AI engineering: Learning about large language models, embeddings, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), vector databases, AI agents, and the practical challenges of developing AI-powered applications.
- Thinking like a product engineer: Considering architecture, usability, maintainability, and real-world requirements-not just whether the code works.
- Building my first AI micro-SaaS: Bringing software engineering and AI together to explore how a useful idea can become a production-oriented product.
- Continuing my academic journey: Deepening my technical foundations and preparing for opportunities to grow through advanced study, research, and collaboration.
I'm drawn to work that requires curiosity, independent thinking, experimentation, and a willingness to learn beyond what's already familiar.

I enjoy working across different parts of the development process, from user-facing interfaces to state management, backend integrations, and emerging AI capabilities.
Some projects focus on learning a specific technology or engineering concept; others bring together multiple components to create a more complete application. Together, they reflect how I learn: by building, testing ideas, evaluating trade-offs, and improving through practice.
My portfolio isn't a finished collection. It's an evolving record of the things I've explored, the problems I've worked through, and the products I want to build next.
I'm interested in more than technology. Some of my interests also influence how I approach problems:
- ♟️ Chess: Strategic planning, evaluating alternatives, and thinking several moves ahead.
- 📈 Stock markets & cryptocurrency: Exploring market dynamics, technical indicators, price trends, and risk management.
- 🧩 Rubik's Cube optimization: Pattern recognition, logical efficiency, and finding systematic solutions.
I also enjoy exploring new ideas, challenging my assumptions, and thinking about the long-term possibilities of technology.
Whether you're a professor exploring my profile, a recruiter looking for an engineer, a fellow developer, or someone interested in building meaningful things, welcome.
I'm always open to learning from others, exchanging ideas, and exploring opportunities that challenge me to grow.
