What

  • Paper clip to GAM. A scene whose picture or footage is in GAM gets a paper clip at the end of its header row. It opens the asset's page in GAM in a new tab. The backend now sends page_url with every GAM asset, built from GAM_BASE_URL.
  • Audio-wave overlay. A new waveform overlay sits beside Text, Name and Picture, under an "Audio wave" button. It has the same settings and defaults as the waveform in Gecko Notes' video dialog: style (line, centred line, peak to peak, points), position, colour and height, plus opacity and the darkened backing. It draws what the video is playing (narration, or a clip's own sound) while it shows. Like other overlays it covers the scene by default, can be anchored to lines or later scenes, and fades in and out.

How it renders

It runs in the existing overlay pass, after the stitch. Each wave reads its slice of the stitched audio, and the scrim and wave fade together as one stream. Waves are drawn under text and pictures, as Notes draws its wave under its text. If ffmpeg lacks showwaves, the overlay is dropped with a warning, as Notes does.

Not included

Notes' waveform is project-wide. This adds it per scene, as asked, but GVC's project-level chrome.waveform still has no UI.

Tests

  • Backend: 700 passed. That includes a test that runs real ffmpeg and checks the wave is drawn only inside its window.
  • Frontend: 160 passed, and npm run build typechecks.

Generated by Claude Code

- A scene whose picture or footage is in GAM gets a paper clip at the end of its
header row that opens the asset's page in GAM in a new tab. The backend now sends
`page_url` with every GAM asset, built from GAM_BASE_URL.
- A new `waveform` overlay, offered beside Text, Name and Picture. It takes the same
settings as Gecko Notes' waveform (style, position, colour, height, opacity, backing)
with the same defaults, and draws what the video is playing while it shows, so it can
cover a scene, part of one, or run across a transition like any other overlay.
Rendered in the existing overlay pass; the scrim fades with the wave.
