🚀 Rogen Forge — Feature-Based Architecture Companion for Roblox

Download is located at the bottom of this README.

Rogen Forge is a next-generation companion toolkit for teams who already believe their Roblox codebase deserves the same structural respect as a production-grade web platform. While the original Rogen concept proved that feature-based architecture could live comfortably inside Roblox Studio, Rogen Forge takes that philosophy further — treating every feature as a self-contained organism with its own runtime, contracts, diagnostics, and lifecycle.

Instead of forcing all logic through a monolithic ServerScriptService tree, Rogen Forge lets you compose your game the way a studio composes a film: scenes, shots, and cuts, each independent yet coherent.

🧭 Overview

Rogen Forge is a command-line orchestration layer that sits beside your Roblox project and supervises every feature you author. It watches folder structures, validates module boundaries, generates typed interfaces between client and server layers, and produces human-readable blueprints of your game's internals.

It doesn't try to replace Rojo, Knit, or any single framework — it wraps around them, like scaffolding around a skyscraper, allowing each floor to be built independently without the whole tower collapsing.

The core idea is simple: if a feature cannot be described, tested, and shipped on its own, it is not yet a feature — it is a fragment. Rogen Forge turns fragments into finished features.

🧠 Philosophy

Rogen Forge assumes three truths about modern Roblox development:

  1. A game is not a script. It is a system of systems. Each system must be able to live and die on its own without taking the whole server down with it.
  2. Naming is destiny. If your folder structure lies, your runtime will lie too. Rogen Forge enforces truth in structure.
  3. Observability beats intuition. Guessing why a client didn't fire an event is not engineering. Rogen Forge gives you a map, a compass, and a logbook.

By accepting these truths, Rogen Forge unlocks a working rhythm where features are born, tested, promoted to production, and eventually retired — without fear.

🏗️ Architecture Breakdown

Rogen Forge organizes itself into four cooperating layers:

1. The Scanner The scanner walks your project tree and produces a semantic model of every feature. It does not care about file names alone — it reads intent from folder shape, marker files, and manifest declarations.

2. The Validator Once scanned, features are validated against a ruleset. Rules can be as strict as "no client module may directly require a server module" or as loose as "every feature must declare an owner." Rules are written in a plain declarative format so non-engineers can review them.

3. The Compiler The compiler does not compile Luau. Instead, it compiles structure — emitting contract files, dependency manifests, and boot manifests that your runtime reads at start-up. Think of it as a translator that speaks both "human architecture" and "runtime request."

4. The Reporter Every run produces a report. Reports can be printed, saved as JSON, or streamed to your internal dashboards. The reporter is intentionally verbose in the way a good architect is verbose: it tells you not only what failed, but what the failure implies about your system.

🖥️ Responsive Developer Interface

The terminal output is designed to feel like a well-lit control room. Panels resize to the width of your terminal, columns collapse gracefully on narrow consoles, and the color palette adapts to light and dark themes. Whether you are running Rogen Forge on a 4K monitor during a demo or on a cramped SSH session during a late-night fix, the interface remains readable.

The responsive layout also extends to the offline blueprint HTML export, which uses fluid grids so that a lead designer can review your architecture on a tablet without horizontal scrolling.

🌍 Multilingual Command Surface

Rogen Forge speaks more than one language. Every command, help page, and diagnostic message can be rendered in English, Spanish, German, Japanese, Portuguese, and Simplified Chinese. Language packs are loaded based on your environment locale, or you can pin a specific language per project.

This matters because game studios are increasingly distributed. A single Roblox project may be authored by people in São Paulo, Berlin, and Osaka within the same week. Rogen Forge ensures nobody is forced to translate architectural vocabulary in their head before acting on it.

🔧 Continuous Diagnostics & 24/7 Support Model

Rogen Forge treats support as a first-class feature rather than an afterthought. The continuous diagnostics subsystem runs quietly in the background of every command, collecting anonymous structural health metrics for your project. When something goes wrong — an orphaned module, a circular dependency, a stale manifest — it surfaces a targeted message with a suggested remedy.

For teams on enterprise arrangements, the support channel is available around the clock. This is not marketing fluff: it is a design decision. Games launch during holidays, at 3 a.m. in the studio's time zone, and often during weekends. Having a support pipeline that never sleeps is the difference between shipping on schedule and shipping late.

🎯 Use Cases

  • Multi-discipline studios where gameplay programmers, UI engineers, and systems designers all touch the same Roblox project.
  • Educational environments where architecture discipline is a prerequisite for grading.
  • Modding communities that need to extend an existing game without violating internal boundaries.
  • Solo creators who want the rigor of a large studio without the overhead of one.
  • Tools teams that build internal plugins and want their own features to be structured predictably.

Each use case benefits from the same underlying property: features are treated as products, not as patches.

🗺️ Roadmap 2026

  • First quarter: Introduce interactive TUI mode for exploratory workflows.
  • Second quarter: Publish a plugin bridge so Rogen Forge state can be inspected from inside Roblox Studio.
  • Third quarter: Add a machine-readable schema for all generated contracts.
  • Fourth quarter: Release a hosted, read-only viewer for team blueprints.

Roadmap items are aspirational and may shift as the community steers priorities.

💻 Compatibility

Rogen Forge is designed to cooperate with common Roblox toolchains rather than replace them. It coexists with Rojo, Wally, and popular runtime frameworks. It imposes no requirements on game logic style, only on feature boundaries.

Operating systems: Windows, macOS, and major Linux distributions.

Runtime baseline: a modern Luau environment and a terminal capable of 256-color output.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

Does Rogen Forge require me to rewrite my game? No. You can adopt it incrementally. The scanner understands projects of any shape and will suggest gradual improvements rather than demand a big rewrite.

Can two developers use different language packs on the same project? Yes. Language is per-user, not per-project, unless the project pins a default. Both settings can coexist.

Does it send my game's source code to a remote server? No. All analysis is local. The only network activity is opt-in update checking and, if enabled, telemetry for diagnostics. Both are off unless you turn them on.

Is there a graphical version? A terminal-first approach is intentional. That said, the HTML blueprint export functions as a lightweight graphical view when shared internally.

🤝 Community & Contribution

Rogen Forge grows through community feedback. Bug reports, architectural critiques, and feature proposals are all welcome. Please read the contribution guide carefully before opening a pull request, especially regarding folder conventions — Rogen Forge is opinionated, and contributions that violate its opinions will be evaluated against that context.

When contributing translations, please follow the language pack template to keep the CLI surface consistent.
