First release under the ctrlaltbot name (formerly cad-discord).

Distribution

  • The npm package is now a library exporting the Worker; operators deploy template/ via the Deploy to Cloudflare button.
  • The template receives updates through Dependabot, with minor/patch versions auto-merged.
  • The Worker registers its own slash commands when their definitions change (first interaction after deploy, and hourly), so no manual registration step.
  • KV storage is auto-provisioned; no namespace IDs in config.
  • discord.js and dotenv removed.

Features

  • /ask <question> and autocomplete on search queries.
  • Results menu replacing "Also matching" links; matched sections shown with their text.

Fixes

  • Deferred replies when CAD is slow (Discord's 3-second limit).
  • Section text extracted correctly from CAD's Markdown, with an HTML fallback.
  • "Page not found", friendly replies for unknown commands, autocomplete limits.

Requires ctrl-alt-doc ≥ 1.0.7 for heading matches and Markdown sections; older CAD sites still work with reduced formatting.

After merging, tag v1.1.0 to publish. The NPM_TOKEN secret must be allowed to publish the new ctrlaltbot package name.

Rename cad-discord to ctrlaltbot and ship it as a library with a
Deploy to Cloudflare template that receives updates via Dependabot.

- Natural-language search via /ask and query autocomplete
- Search results menu, section text, and heading links
- Deferred replies for slow documentation servers
- Correct section extraction from CAD page Markdown, with HTML fallback
- Self-registering slash commands on deploy and hourly
- Drop discord.js and dotenv; add automated tests
