The comment Bite posts on a pull request with no code to check was built by a separate bit of shell in action.yml, so it didn't match the others: no fold, no words on how Bite checks, no "What is Bite?" link. CH spotted it on #35.

  • recent.py: bite now writes the comment on every "nothing to check" exit too, and every comment ends the same way: a fold with the same sentence on how Bite checks, then [What is Bite?](https://github.com/connabyss/bite). (The "steps to rerun" sentence only shows when there are commits to rerun.)
  • action.yml: the separate shell comment is gone; the Action always posts what bite wrote.
  • tests/selftest.py: checks that all four kinds (tests check it, worth a look, couldn't check, no code) end with the same words and link, and that a run with nothing to check still writes the comment (fails on the old recent.py: 64/65; 65/65 with this change).

The PR comment for a pull request with no testable code had no link, while
the other comments end with one. Someone seeing Bite for the first time
there had no way to find out what it is.

✅ Bite: your tests really check the changes in this pull request

Taking each change back out makes a test fail, so the tests would notice if it broke.

Every commit, and how Bite checked
  • 13312206 Make every Bite comment end the same way: ✅ A test fails without this change, so the tests really check it.

Bite takes each commit's code change back out and runs your tests. A test that really checks a change fails when the change is gone. The steps to rerun each check yourself are on the job's summary page. What is Bite?

The comment for a pull request with no code to check was written by a
separate bit of shell in action.yml, so it drifted from the others: no
fold and no words on how Bite checks. Now bite writes that comment too
(on every "nothing to check" exit), and all comments share one ending:
the fold, the same sentence on how Bite checks, and the What is Bite? link.
The selftest checks every kind of comment ends that way.
