aka codeskine · Rome, Italy
I've been writing code for a long time and I've been a nerd for even longer. I live in Rome and work as a senior developer and architect, mostly with Go and Java on Kubernetes.
I'm Kafka certified, which means I can usually explain why a message showed up twice. I'm also a certified Scrum Developer, and my main takeaway is that a stand-up should last as long as its name suggests.
Lately I spend my time on agentic and context engineering: I set up the process, the AI agents write the code, and I review it the way I always have, with a healthy amount of suspicion. Some of it is even good.
I collect records and mess around with hardware synths. The record shelf grows faster than my backlog, and I'm at peace with that. If you're curious what's on it, here's my Discogs profile.
A few things I believe:
- If it works on the first try, I should check again.
- Never deploy on a Friday.
- Nobody has ever regretted writing a README, and I'm not sure this counts as one.
