fix(spore): dedupe lock-proxy outputs and honor empty clusterId - #614
prepareCluster with clusterMode: "lockProxy" compared the cluster-owner lock with ===. A second spore of the same cluster did not see the owner output already added, so the transaction gained an extra owner output for one owner input. The check now uses Script.eq.
findSpores and findSporesBySigner treated clusterId: "" as no filter because "" is falsy, so public-only queries also returned clustered spores. undefined still means no filter, "" means public spores only, and any other cluster id is compared as hex. "" is not passed to hexFrom.
Test plan
pnpm exec vitest run in packages/spore (6 tests, including the reporters' offline repros)
pnpm exec tsc --noEmit and pnpm exec eslint ./src in packages/spore
prepareCluster compared cluster-owner locks with ===, so a second spore
of the same cluster added another owner output. findSpores treated
clusterId "" as no filter because the empty string is falsy.

Spore creation now recognizes an existing proxy-lock output only when its lock, type, and data match, and preserves a single owner output for each cluster.
Spore searches now distinguish an omitted cluster filter from an empty cluster ID: omitting the filter includes spores from all clusters, while an empty ID returns only spores without a cluster.
Searches with a cluster ID now compare hexadecimal representations consistently.
The Spore package now tracks restored lock-proxy inputs by input and outpoint. Its search functions distinguish undefined, empty, and nonempty cluster ID filters.

prepareCluster restores the selected proxy input’s cell only if that input or outpoint has not already been restored. Offline tests cover repeated cluster preparation and createSpore owner outputs. The changeset records the lock-proxy and search-filter changes.
Cluster ID filtering packages/spore/src/spore/index.ts
A shared filter makes an undefined cluster ID match all Spores, an empty string match only Spores without a cluster ID, and a nonempty ID match when the hex representations are equal. Both search generators use this filter.
Proxy restoration can be duplicated or omitted when transactions are copied, reused, edited, or prepared concurrently, changing funding requirements or owner-capacity allocation. Resolve these cases before merging.

Explanation
The title names two concrete changes in the spore package: deduplicating lock-proxy cluster-owner outputs in prepareCluster and honoring an empty clusterId filter in findSpores/findSporesBySigner. Both match the changeset, the code changes, and the linked objectives (#597, #599). It is specific and concise, so it passes. It is a little dense, but a teammate scanning history would understand the primary changes.

Explanation
Both directly linked issues are open and apply. [#597] prepareCluster now restores the selected lock-proxy input once. It tracks the input and transaction outpoint, so repeated preparation for the same cluster does not add a second owner output. lockProxy.test.ts verifies one owner output after two preparations and verifies owner capacity and typed-output behavior. [#599] matchClusterFilter is used by both findSpores and findSporesBySigner. undefined matches all spores, "" matches only spores without a cluster ID, and other IDs are compared with ccc.hexFrom without passing "" to hexFrom.

prepareCluster treated any same-lock output as the owner restore, so
createSpore minting to the cluster owner skipped the output that
reproduces the selected proxy input. Match type and data as well as
lock (still via Script.eq) so a Spore output is not mistaken for that
restore and two spores of one cluster still share one owner output.

The typed-input test in lockProxy.test.ts calls createSpore once, so it checks one typed owner restore. It does not prepare a second spore from the same cluster with the same typed owner input. A change that always adds a typed restore would pass both tests but would duplicate the owner output on the second preparation. Add a second preparation and assert one matching owner output.

Assert the restored capacity in the typed-input test.
The test at lockProxy.test.ts:99-130 checks only the lock, type, and data of the restored output. A restore with less capacity than the typed input would still pass. The input fixture also uses capacity: 0, so the test cannot express a capacity regression. Use a nonzero input capacity and assert that the owner-locked output keeps it.

100 CKB is below the typed owner cell occupied minimum, so addOutput
raised capacity before the restore assertion. Use 200 CKB so the test
checks that the owner output keeps the input capacity.

2026-10-28 follow-up — original payment-collision scenario fixed at 2124d395cc98df5f41534f00b28873298a89f8fd. An independent focused offline follow-up passed all 12 cases at this head and reproduced the defect in all 12 on d673bbf7407274f6be988c35187e46499c907917. Coverage included 61/1,000 CKB independent owner payments, existing/automatically collected proxy inputs, repeated preparation and fee completion. This confirms the original finding is fixed at the transaction-construction layer, not on-chain execution. The new clone/JSON restoration duplication and shared-input cross-transaction omission are separate regressions, not a continuation of this payment collision.
Original evidence is preserved below.
[P2] Keep independent owner payments separate from proxy restoration
With clusterMode: "lockProxy", an existing payment to the cluster owner can have the same lock, type and data as the proxy input. This matcher then treats that independent payment as the restore, even when prepareCluster has just collected an additional owner input. Its capacity can consequently become the fee payer's change instead of being returned in addition to the payment. Matching type/data fixes the earlier typed-Spore collision, but does not distinguish this case.
Offline comparison of base d579341 against reviewed head d673bbf: with distinct owner/payer locks, a pre-existing 61 CKB owner payment, a collected 1,000 CKB owner proxy input and a 2,000 CKB payer input, createSpore followed by completeFeeBy(signer, 1000) produces:
Base: owner outputs total 1,061 CKB; payer change 175299998920 shannons.
Head: owner outputs total 61 CKB; payer change 275299999009 shannons.
Both use the same two inputs. The missing 1,000 CKB restoration moves into the assembled payer-change budget; the additional 89 shannons are the fee difference from one fewer output.
Validation: the targeted capacity-preservation assertion fails on this head (6100000000 >= 106100000000 is false); a no-collision control restores capacity. The package's two committed tests, build, typecheck and lint passed. Reproduction used mocked cells/read-only signers and offline transaction assembly, not RPC or on-chain execution; the owner input still requires owner-lock authorization. This is not a signature bypass or a demonstrated unauthorized spend.
Suggested fix
Track the restore output explicitly for the selected proxy input/outpoint, preserve its capacity, and reuse only that restore on subsequent preparations. Do not infer restoration from an arbitrary existing payment; adding capacity equality alone still conflates an equally sized independent payment. Add regressions for both different-sized and equally sized pre-existing owner payments. This is a proposed direction, not a tested patch.
Matching lock, type, and data treated an independent owner payment as
the proxy restore, so a newly collected owner input was spent as fee
change. Track the selected proxy input/outPoint, add that cell as the
restore, and reuse it for later spores of the same cluster.

Two new P2 transaction-construction regressions independently verified in d673bbf → 2124d39; see inline findings. Evidence was frozen before reading existing reviews, then checked for duplicates.
Validation: Core/Spore builds and Spore typecheck/lint passed; committed Spore tests 4/4 and Core transaction tests 100/100 passed. The targeted offline suite (pnpm exec vitest run --config vitest.review.config.mts) had 6 passes and 4 failures at this head (the two root causes plus variants), versus 10/10 passing on the previous head. Full-repository checks, Node 26 and on-chain VM validation were not run. These are not CI-pass claims.
The earlier independent-payment collision is fixed in the tested assembly scenarios and is separate from these regressions.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
[P2] Preserve proxy restoration when cloning or rebuilding a transaction
After one createSpore({ ..., clusterMode: "lockProxy" }), clone the returned transaction with tx.clone() (or rebuild it through a JSON round trip), then create another Spore of the same cluster. The inputs and existing restoration output survive, but neither WeakMap's object identity does. This check returns false and adds the selected proxy input as an output a second time.
At reviewed head 2124d395cc98df5f41534f00b28873298a89f8fd, the offline regression restores a 1,000 CKB proxy twice, producing 2,000 CKB of owner outputs instead of 1,000 CKB. The extra output increases the payer's funding requirement. The same clone/JSON cases on the previous head d673bbf7407274f6be988c35187e46499c907917 restore only once.
Validation: both reconstruction variants fail their one-restoration assertions on this head and pass on the previous head. Tests use synthetic cells and read-only signers, with no signing, broadcast or on-chain VM validation.
Suggested fix
Keep restoration accounting transaction-local and keyed by the selected outpoint, with a durable representation that survives supported cloning/serialization. Preserve the distinction between an independent owner payment and the output restoring this input. Add clone and JSON-round-trip regressions between successive preparations. This is a proposed direction, not a tested patch.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
[P2] Scope the input restoration marker to its transaction
Construct two candidate transactions from a skeleton containing the same CellInput instance. Preparing the first marks that input in the module-global WeakMap. Preparing the second then takes this early return even though that transaction has no output restoring the owner input. Sharing an input object between candidate transactions is not evidence that both have restored it.
At reviewed head 2124d395cc98df5f41534f00b28873298a89f8fd, the offline regression's second transaction returns 0 CKB to the owner instead of the selected proxy's 1,000 CKB. After fee completion, that capacity enters the payer-output budget, plus an 89-shannon fee difference from omitting one output. On previous head d673bbf7407274f6be988c35187e46499c907917, both candidate transactions restore the owner input.
Validation: the shared-input candidate regression fails on this head and passes on the previous head. This demonstrates incorrect offline transaction construction with synthetic cells/read-only signers, not a signature bypass or a demonstrated unauthorized spend: the owner input still requires its normal lock authorization. No transaction was signed or broadcast.
Suggested fix
Do not use an input object's process-wide marker to establish restoration in another transaction. Track the selected outpoint's restoration within each transaction, while making that accounting survive supported cloning/serialization. Add a regression that independently prepares two candidates sharing a CellInput instance. This is a proposed direction, not a tested patch.
Note: CodeRabbit is an incremental review system and does not re-review already reviewed commits. This command is applicable only when automatic reviews are paused.
Restoration marker survives removal of its restoration output.
The marker is keyed by the proxy CellInput object. In the ordinary createSpore path with the CKB public-key signer, the returned transaction keeps that same object. If a caller removes the restoration output from the returned transaction and passes it back to createSpore, prepareCluster skips the restoration. The proxy input then stays in tx.inputs with no restoration output. Fee completion counts its capacity as surplus, so completeFeeBy can return that capacity to change. Before this change, the output scan added the restoration again in this sequence.
A copy that creates new CellInput objects misses the marker and restores again. That case does not skip restoration.
No safe correction is established. Keying the marker on output identity would need an identity that survives Transaction.from and copying, and none is established. Rescanning outputs by lock reintroduces the match against independent owner outputs that this marker avoids.

Re-check the restoration marker after the getCell await.
The restoration check at advanced.ts:86 runs before await proxyInput.getCell(signer.client), and the marker is set only after the output is added. Two overlapping prepareCluster calls that share a tx and proxy input can both pass the check and both add a restoration output. Move the check so it runs again after the await, with no await between the re-check and the add and mark.
