Hi. I'm Paul. I write code at Thoughtworks. This is my GitHub profile.
Do not expect to find any earth-shattering open-source contributions here; my day job drains my soul enough, so feel free to wander around the digital tumbleweeds.
- What I get paid to write: C# and TypeScript (because rent is unfortunately non-negotiable).
- What I actually want to write: Rust, Zig, Gleam, and OCaml (or F# when .NET holds a gun to my head).
- Reality check: Out of that dream lineup, I only actually use Rust in personal projects. Turns out, having an ecosystem that doesn't consist of three blog posts and a prayer actually matters.
As for TypeScript, I use it extensively. Not because I’m enamored with its eccentric type system, but because building for the Web without it is a descent into madness. Sure, there are exotic alternatives like ReScript, ReasonML, or Gleam-to-JS compilers—right up until you have to write FFI glue code and realize you’ve added one too many layers of indirection just to feel special.
- LinkedIn (If you must).
