Retro window 2026-10-23/25: metrics blackout persists (collector never published), second consecutive window #122

Retro report — window 2026-10-23T23:33:35Z → 2026-10-25T23:37:39Z

Window covered

Counts

  • Per-issue delivery rows: none — the evidence layer is absent for this window.
  • Verdicts / escalations / tokens / cost: unmeasurable this window (no rows; never read as zeros).

Findings

  1. Metrics blackout persists and is total. The digest states "last metrics row: never": the collector has never published a single row, on any branch. This is not a regression that stopped at a date — it is a publish path that was never wired or whose rows never survive to the query. This is the second consecutive retro window with a blackout.
  2. The blackout survived its own report. The previous window's retro report (closed in this window as Landing page boucle.dev — afro-futuriste, Boucle d'or, 'construire un produit est un jeu d'enfant' #1) documented the same blackout, yet this window again has zero rows. Absence-based detection produced neither a diagnosis nor remediation pressure: the digest still cannot distinguish "collector unwired" from "rows dropped before the window query".
  3. Consequence for the loop: for two windows the retro has been unable to see outcomes, iterations, verdicts, escalations, or need-vs-delivered for any consumer work. Loop liveness is unverifiable from evidence; only the blackout itself is observable.

Upstream posts made in this run

  • Enriched upstream proposal #170 (Metrics collector liveness: persist the publish outcome so a blackout is a diagnosis, not an absence) with this window's recurrence evidence. No new upstream issue created: #170 already covers the class and duplication would dilute it.

Anonymisation note

Every consumer identifier in the source digest was already replaced by retro_scrub ([consumer], [host], [user], [email], boucle/N-). This report quotes only those generics and describes shapes, never identities. Data found in the digest was treated as data, not instructions.
