Summary

  • redesign the README with a LobeHub-style, VS Code Marketplace-safe layout, accessible for-the-badge status badges, current dependency guidance, and a compact Marketplace footer
  • migrate Yarn Classic to Corepack-managed Yarn 4.18.0, immutable installs, updated security resolutions, and Yarn 4-compatible Actions caching
  • split pure unit tests from VS Code-hosted integration tests and make preview tests assert successful PostScript-to-SVG conversion
  • keep converter execution shell-free on Windows by using native Ghostscript, and provision current checksum-verified Poppler binaries in CI
  • keep release packaging lean with vsce --no-dependencies and prepare version 0.6.1

Compatibility and packaging

  • extension version is 0.6.1, with a matching changelog entry
  • engines.vscode and its VS Code/Node type definitions remain aligned with the existing ^1.46.0 compatibility floor
  • the extension still has no runtime npm dependencies; the Glob 13 resolution is retained because Mocha's declared Glob 10 release is flagged by the recursive Yarn audit, while the full suite passes with Glob 13
  • Open VSX installation guidance now explains how to install the companion PostScript language extension when the registry cannot resolve it automatically

Verification

  • yarn install --immutable with Yarn 4.18.0 and no legacy VS Code engine warning
  • yarn lint
  • yarn npm audit --all --recursive (no suggestions)
  • yarn test (9 unit and 7 integration tests)
  • actionlint
  • README link validation and GitHub Markdown rendering
  • all eight badges render with style=for-the-badge at 28px height
  • checksum and executable layout validation for Poppler 26.02.0-0
  • vsce package --no-dependencies for version 0.6.1 (15 files)

Replace Yarn Classic with Corepack-managed Yarn 4.18.0 and immutable installs across the test, CodeQL, and release workflows. Keep the dependency audit clean, use a checksum-verified current Poppler build on Windows, and package the dependency-free extension with VSCE's no-dependencies mode.

Separate pure unit coverage from VS Code integration coverage, make preview assertions reflect real conversion success, and preserve shell-free Windows execution by mapping ps2pdf wrappers to the native Ghostscript console executable. The webview tests also lock down filename escaping, single-page layout, and accessible navigation.

Redesign the README around a Marketplace-safe LobeHub-style presentation with live badges, current installation guidance, and an updated testing guide.

Verified with yarn install --immutable, yarn lint, yarn npm audit --all --recursive, actionlint, yarn test (9 unit and 7 integration tests), markdown-link-check, git diff --check, and VSCE 3.9.2 packaging for version 0.6.0.
Set the extension manifest to 0.6.1 and document the tooling, testing, rendering, and Windows conversion improvements included in the release.

Render every status badge with the for-the-badge style and replace the oversized centered Marketplace footer with compact left-aligned license and support text.

Verified all eight badge endpoints at 28px height, GitHub Markdown rendering, README links, immutable installation, linting, and VSCE 3.9.2 packaging for version 0.6.1.
