The browser demo (docs/demo/) was built from v1.9.0. It had none of these:

  • the source rules and their templates;
  • Settings › Devices, with MAC addresses and makers;
  • rules by MAC;
  • reading the history again;
  • the Settings tabs in a column.

It also said v1.9.0.

Built on #106. The demo is the real interface, and #106 fixes the Devices table it shows. Merge #106 first; this PR then shows only the site.

What changes on the site

  • The demo is rebuilt from main plus fix(devices): the Devices table fits the Settings dialog in every language #106, and says v1.11.0, as does the service fixture.
  • The site's pictures are current again. The pages show WebP variants (node tools/webp.mjs), and these had not been derived since September. Even after the PNGs were regenerated for v1.9.0, the landing page still showed September's interface. The WebP of the live view, message detail, import, import format, simulator and anonymous mode change; dashboard, alerts and routing come out identical.
  • Background and Backups screenshots show the Settings tabs in a column.

The demo's new calls

Every binding the window calls has a fixture (checked against the calls in frontend/src). What a web page cannot do is refused with its reason, as the rest of DEMO_ONLY is:

  • exporting source rules (writes a file);
  • importing a rules file (native dialog);
  • reading the history again (no database behind the demo).

Count again empties the demo's device list until a reload, as clearing messages does. IsDatabaseLeftClear has a fixture.

Checked

  • The built demo was served as GitHub Pages serves it and walked in headless Chromium, in English and French. The walk covered:

    • the live view and the message detail (MAC and maker shown);
    • the row menu and the rule editor;
    • history and every view;
    • every Settings tab;
    • the three refused calls (their toasts read as above) and Count again.

    No page error, no console error, no failed request.

  • The Devices table fits its frame in all eight languages (fix(devices): the Devices table fits the Settings dialog in every language #106).

  • node tools/check-links.mjs: 154 local references, none missing.

  • svelte-check --fail-on-warnings and npm test pass.

The site changes only when this is merged (the Pages workflow deploys docs/ from main).

…guage

Headers, badges and "not since start" were held on one line, so in French,
German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and Japanese the table came out 22 to
152 px wider than the dialog: the Reading badges were cut and the rule
buttons only reachable by scrolling sideways. They wrap now, and the MAC
line is 20 px narrower. Measured in the eight languages at 1440 and 900 px
(the window's minimum): none overflows.
Exporting or importing source rules and reading the history again are
refused in the demo with their reason, like the other calls a web page
cannot make; Count again empties the demo's device list until a reload;
IsDatabaseLeftClear has a fixture.

The WebP variants the pages actually show had not been derived again since
September, so the site still showed that interface even where the PNGs were
new. The Background and Backups pictures now show the Settings tabs in a
column.
The demo dated from v1.9.0: none of the source rules, templates, the
Devices tab, MAC addresses and makers, reading the history again, or the
Settings tabs in a column were in it.
