UCL Biosciences

Organisation for computational and data science projects within UCL's Division of Biosciences

UCL Biosciences Computational Research

Welcome to UCL Biosciences' github, where we store Division-related code, training material and other information. Our Data Science team and computational experts are promoting reproducible, FAIR and open science across the Division.

This repository provides information about computational research support activities in UCL's Division of Biosciences. This is aimed at anyone doing computational research in the Division. Read on for info about:

  • guides summarising data management, sharing and analysis using UCL infrastructure (including HPC clusters)
  • collaboration and support for data analysis pipelines
  • support and training for computational research

Computational Support

The Data Science team helps researchers plan, run, and maintain computational analyses, with a focus on reproducibility and skills development. Book a meeting with James Gilbert, Biosciences' Senior Research Data Scientist, to discuss any part of your computational life.

Resources

Resource Description

Data Processing and Analysis

Coming 2027!!

Drop-ins

Drop-ins are paused for the 2026 summer break - see you later in 2026!

Come along to the Darwin Common Room for a drop-in with Biosciences Data Scientist James Gilbert. We can discuss any questions you have about your data, code, or analyses. No appointment needed!

How do I contribute?

Want to request more information about a specific topic or type of support? We welcome general requests, questions, or ideas (e.g. training needs, new tools, or pipeline improvements) - please open an issue in the computational support repository. This provides a single point for tracking and coordinating work across projects.
