Summary

Enhances migration of legacy links that navigate directly to superactivities, a structure that Torus does not support directly. This was motivated by the linked iLogos diagram exercises in Argument Diagramming (HTML5).

Approach

  • Convert each directly linked activity into an OLI Embedded Activity on a synthesized scored wrapper page.
  • Preserve the legacy ID on both the activity and wrapper page. Legacy links resolve to the page while the shared provenance remains visible for diagnosis and spreadsheet processing.
  • Add otherwise-unordered wrapper pages to the root of every migrated organization that can reach a linking activity-bank question. This makes the pages reachable during section creation and keeps them easy to find and hide in Remix.
  • For linked iLogos exercises, keep the embedded activity automatically graded and add one shared, automatically scored completion question through an activity-bank selection. The completion checkbox gives the page a normal Submit flow without relying on Torus singleton-superactivity auto-finalization. iLogos does not call endAttempt, and the current auto-finalization path has additional polling/redirect problems.
  • Treat the checkbox as self-reported completion rather than an assessment of diagram correctness. This avoids Torus manual grading behavior that would hold the page open and does not currently provide a practical embedded-activity review workflow.
  • Copy the argument instruction and bold argument text from the referring bank question to the top of its iLogos wrapper page. Students can therefore complete and later review the diagram without navigating back to the source quiz question.
  • Emit migration warnings instead of guessing when the expected argument pattern is missing or conflicting.

The wrapper-page design preserves the legacy course's separation between the quiz score and the linked diagram exercise while producing an independently reachable and submittable Torus assessment.

Verification

  • Added linked-activity and iLogos conversion coverage, including organization reachability, completion-question deduplication, argument copying, malformed-content warnings, and valid page content structure.
  • Full test suite passes: 119 tests.
  • ESLint passes for the changed files.
