Closes #881. Part of #674. Related: #848 asks for the same information after an import.

Stacked on #885 (base branch feat/reputation-rebind-lnp2pbot): it uses the lnp2pbotIssuerKey constant that PR adds. Merge #885 first; GitHub retargets this one to main.

What changes and why

After Check, the import screen showed only the figures (★ 4.87 · 214 ratings · since …) and not who issued the attestation, although the core already returned the issuer key. The import cannot be undone and uses up that source for this identity on this node, so a user holding attestations from two sources, or one pasted by mistake, confirmed without knowing which one it was.

The checked card now names the source above the figures: Issued by lnp2pBot when the issuer is lnp2pbotIssuerKey; Issued by the Mostro ‹name› when a known Mostro's info event announces that key as reputation_issuer, by its cached profile name or, without one, its npub; otherwise Issued by a key this app does not know: followed by the issuer's npub, selectable. A failed registry lookup falls back to the npub, so the figures and the Import button still show.

Affected flow

Settings → Reputation → Import reputation (/import_reputation), after Check. Bridge: new get_reputation_issuer_node(issuer) in rust/src/api/reputation_transfer.rs, which reads the capabilities already fetched (node_with_issuer, new in rust/src/mostro/reputation_support.rs) and the node registry (list_mostro_nodes); it sends nothing. Dart: ReputationApi.issuerNode, and the source resolution and card in lib/features/reputation/screens/import_reputation_screen.dart. Check and Import themselves are unchanged. No order or dispute status is touched.

Blast radius

  • Bridge: one new async function; lib/src/rust/ and rust/src/frb_generated.rs regenerated with ./scripts/frb-generate.sh in the same commit. Nothing existing changes signature.
  • Known nodes only: reputation_support keeps the tags of nodes whose info event this app has fetched (the active one, and those active before). A Mostro never fetched is shown by its issuer npub, not by name; that is the fallback the issue asks for. A key two fetched nodes announce names neither. The name is the node's own kind 0 profile text, as in the node selector: a blank one reads as none, and a user-added node is named like a trusted one, since the user put it in the registry.
  • Localization: new keys reputationIssuedByLnp2pbot, reputationIssuedByMostro (placeholder name), reputationIssuedByUnknownKey in all seven ARBs; app_localizations*.dart regenerated with flutter gen-l10n, untranslated report empty.
  • Automation identifiers: new reputation.import.source on the source line; the existing import identifiers keep their meaning. Listed in specs/004-mostro-p2p-client/contracts/reputation_transfer.md, which also documents the new bridge function and the card.
  • State: the source is stored beside the checked attestation and withdrawn with it (text edit, reload, identity change, stale answer to Check), so it never names a source for text other than the one in the field.
  • Persisted data, other platforms, wire, daemon: untouched.

Platforms tested

None by hand. See Manual testing.

Manual testing

Not run: this branch was verified with cargo test, flutter analyze and flutter test only; I did not run the app against a node or lnp2pBot. The steps a person should run:

Setup

App built from this branch with flutter run -d linux (debug), identity in Reputation Mode, active node advertising reputation_import_issuers that trusts lnp2pBot's key and another Mostro's reputation_issuer.

Steps

  1. Settings → Reputation → Import reputation → "Get it from lnp2pBot"; paste what the bot sends, tap Check.
Expected: above the figures, "Issued by lnp2pBot"; "Import into this Mostro" below.
  2. On the other Mostro (selected as active once, so its info event was fetched), Settings → Reputation → Export to the first node; switch back to the first node and open Import reputation (the pending attestation prefills the field and is checked).
Expected: "Issued by the Mostro ‹that node's profile name›" (or its npub if it has no cached name).
  3. Paste an attestation signed by a key the node trusts but that no known Mostro announces, tap Check.
Expected: "Issued by a key this app does not know:" and the issuer npub on the next line, selectable; Import still offered.
  4. Edit one character of the pasted text.
Expected: the card, the source and Import disappear until Check runs again.
  5. Regression: Check an attestation for another identity.
Expected: the refusal reads as before, no source line.

Not covered

Nothing was run by hand. iOS, Android, web: not run.

Screenshots

Pending: no app run yet. The visible change is the source line (one or two lines) at the top of the checked card. Design rules touched: DS-L10N-5 (figures unchanged), DS-A11Y-4 (the existing 320 dp / 2× German test now renders the card with the source line and the npub).

Automated tests

Rust:

  • reputation_support::names_the_node_that_announces_an_issuer_key: node_with_issuer finds the node by its announced key, case-insensitively, and answers nothing for an unknown key.
  • reputation_support::a_key_two_nodes_announce_names_neither.
  • reputation_transfer::the_known_mostro_announcing_an_issuer_key_is_named_before_an_import: get_reputation_issuer_node returns the registry entry of a trusted node after its tags were recorded, and None for an unknown key, without storage.

test/features/reputation/import_reputation_screen_test.dart (fake API gained issuerNode, a configurable issuer and an npub per key):

  • names lnp2pBot as the source of an attestation it signed: the bot line, Import offered, no registry lookup.
  • names the Mostro whose info event announces the issuer key: the node's cached name, no npub shown.
  • a known Mostro without a cached name is named by its npub: no name, and a blank name.
  • an attestation exported from another Mostro names its source: the pending-prefill path.
  • editing during the source lookup discards the delayed answer: a lookup that answers after the text changed names nothing and offers no Import.
  • shows the issuer npub when nothing identifies the key: the unknown-key line plus a selectable npub, Import offered.
  • a failed node lookup still shows the figures, with the key: a throwing lookup never surfaces as an error.
  • the source is withdrawn with the card when the text changes: after an edit nothing names the old source; the next Check names the new one.

RED phase: the Dart suite failed to compile before the implementation (reputationIssuedBy*, issuerNode undefined); the Rust tests were written in the same step as the two functions they cover.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Reputation checks now show who issued an attestation: lnp2pBot, a recognized Mostro by name, or an unknown issuer’s public key.
    • Issuer labels are available in English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, and Portuguese.
  • Bug Fixes
    • Reputation figures remain visible if issuer lookup fails, with a public-key fallback.
    • Issuer details clear when the input or active identity changes, preventing outdated attribution from appearing.

After Check, the import screen showed the figures only, not who issued
the attestation. The import cannot be undone and uses up that issuer for
this identity on this node, so the checked card now names the source
above the figures: lnp2pBot for its issuer key; the known Mostro whose
info event announces the key as reputation_issuer, by its cached profile
name or its npub; otherwise the issuer npub, selectable.

The Rust bridge gains get_reputation_issuer_node, which reads the
capabilities already fetched and the node registry and sends nothing. A
key two fetched nodes announce names neither. The source is stored with
the checked attestation and withdrawn with it.

Walkthrough

The reputation import screen now identifies an attestation’s issuer before import. Rust looks up a uniquely matching Mostro node. The screen displays lnp2pBot, a known node name, or an issuer key fallback, with localized labels and tests.

Changing identity during a pending issuer lookup can leave an Import action that fails and requires another check. This is a recoverable edge case, but the stale result should be cleared.

Full details: Description check

Explanation

The description is comprehensive and covers the linked issue, behavior, affected flow, blast radius, tests, localization, generated code, and known validation limits. Manual testing and required screenshots were not completed, but these omissions are clearly disclosed and do not make the description largely incomplete.

Full details: Linked Issues check

Explanation

Issue #881 requires the checked pre-import card to identify the attestation issuer. The screen resolves the verified issuer as lnp2pBot, a uniquely matching known Mostro by cached name or npub, or a selectable issuer npub. It clears the source when the checked text becomes stale. Lookup errors fall back to the npub while keeping the figures and Import action. The Rust bridge and node_with_issuer implement the registry lookup. Automated Rust and widget tests cover these paths.

Full details: Out of Scope Changes check

Explanation

The changed bridge, capability tracking, UI state, localization, generated bindings, automation identifier, contract documentation, and tests support the issuer display required by issue #881. The changes do not implement the related post-import work in #848, and no unrelated order, dispute, persisted-data, wire, or daemon changes are shown.

Explanation

Docstring coverage is 90.91% which is sufficient. The required threshold is 80.00%. Docstring coverage is scoped to functions touched by this diff. Analyzed 11 functions across 2 files. (25 skipped: 24 unsupported, 1 too large.)
