Require the destination for moves to the root entry point.
When m.to is ., target is undefined. A section that only names the export then passes, even if it does not state that consumers must import it from stream-chat-react. Match the root package specifier in that branch.

Normalize export entry points before coverage matching.
dump records export keys such as ./obsolete, and diff emits them as exports:./obsolete. The check then searches for the literal ./obsolete, so documentation that names stream-chat-react/obsolete can be reported as missing.

…cript Collects every public API break between release-v14 and master into ai-docs/v15-breaking-changes.md (77 entries with evidence, coverage map and notes for the migration guides) and adds scripts/api-surface.mts (yarn api-surface dump/diff/check) to re-run the surface diff and the coverage gate against later release candidates.
… words check ignored exports that moved to another entry point, and matched package names with a plain substring search, so names like stream-chat passed against any migration doc. Moved exports must now be named next to their new import path, removed packages must appear as a whole word, and a changed range must be stated with its new value next to the package name.

…x the client-option mapping A real v14 -> v15 migration (website-react-examples) surfaced two silent breaks the audit missed: ChannelList.setActiveChannelOnMount and Thread.autoFocus both defaulted to true, so their removal changed every app, not only apps that passed them. diff now emits a gated removed-default-behavior change for any removed public prop whose v14 default was not falsy, and check requires the doc to explain the lost default on the same line as the prop. The audit doc now covers all five such props. It also fixes BC-018: enableWSFallback, wsUrlParams, recoverStateOnReconnect and isLocalUnreadCountEnabled do have config keys in stream-chat v10 (client.wsConnection, client.connectionRecovery, channel.readEvents).

Require the audit to state the new behavior.
For ChannelList.setActiveChannelOnMount, a line that says only “v14 default: true” passes this check. The audit can therefore omit what happens in v15 while check reports coverage. Require an explicit description of the post-removal behavior, not just the word “default”.

…w is gone BC-010 said .str-chat__channel is now the column Window provided, but not that the v14 row (.str-chat__container, display: flex) holding Window and Thread side by side no longer exists. A real migration hit exactly this: a sibling <Thread> stacks below the channel until the app's container becomes a flex row. Also note that ChatView slots are flex: 1 1 0 siblings, so panel sizing belongs on the slot.
… audit (#3329) ### Goal Bring the v14 -> v15 integrator guides in line with `ai-docs/v15-breaking-changes.md`, the audited source of truth: every confirmed `BC-###` entry is now covered, and every inaccuracy listed in its "Notes For Migration Guide Drafting" section is fixed. Stacked on #3327 (the breaking-changes audit), which must merge first. The cleanup PR that removes dead v15 props stacks on this one. ### Implementation details - `ai-docs/ai-migration-v14-v15.md`: rewritten and grouped by user task (install and imports, client and `Chat`, layout, workspace navigation, providing a channel, channel list, threads, headers, channel state, customization, message lists, messages, composer, request handlers, configuration, dates, v10 data shapes, i18n, CSS, tests). It opens with a table of the breaks that do not fail to compile (selection and thread opening outside `ChatView`, `Channel` no longer watching, `MessageList.messages` being ignored, failed sends no longer restoring the composer, context hooks throwing, and others), and ends with an index mapping all 77 `BC` entries to their sections. The "not yet exhaustive" banner is removed. - Fixes from the audit's drafting notes: `channel.messageOperations` / `messageComposer.send()` instead of the non-existent `*WithLocalUpdate` methods; `toTail()` / `toHead()` and `hasMoreTail` / `hasMoreHead` instead of the inverted `prev` / `next` mapping; thread replies use the channel's request handlers, and the `thread` key takes only `markReadRequest`; `Channel` no longer reloads on `connection.recovered`; `Thread` does not register with the `ThreadManager`; `useCooldownRemaining` (no `useIsCooldownActive`); `getLatestMessagePreview` is still exported; the `messageActions` filter guards the dropdown-toggle item; the stale `portal:` pin section is removed. - `ai-docs/i18n-v15-migration.md`: the runtime is attributed to `@stream-io/i18n` (not `stream-chat`), the direct `@stream-io/i18n` import advice is replaced with the supported `registerTranslation` / `dayjsLocaleConfigForLanguage` paths, and the strict `t` / `asDynamicKey`, removed `Streami18n` members and `FormatterContext` changes are added. - `ai-docs/instance-configuration.md`: the `thread` request-handler claim is corrected, and the `pageSize` section no longer uses the removed `channelQueryOptions` prop. - `ai-docs/i18n-v15-key-map.json`: "Send message request failed" / "Edit message request failed" now map to `notification.messageSendFailed` / `notification.messageUpdateFailed`. - `AGENTS.md`: notes that `useMessagePaginator()` is internal and not exported. - Verification: all 39 v15 code blocks in the migration guide, and the new snippets in the other two guides, were extracted and type-checked with `tsc` against `src/` and `stream-chat@10.0.0-rc.22`. Every anchor link resolves. Prettier passes. Known gaps, left for follow-ups: 8 more rows in `i18n-v15-key-map.json` point at keys absent from the current catalog (for example the `timestamp.relative*` keys and `notification.jumpToFirstUnreadFailed`), and the AGENTS.md i18n example uses `channel.memberCount.title`, which is not a key. ### UI Changes None (docs only). <!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> ## Summary by CodeRabbit * **Documentation** * Reworked the v14-to-v15 migration guide into an execution checklist covering API, layout, channel and thread, messaging, timestamp, translation, styling, and testing changes. * Documented migration requirements and behavior changes, including watched-channel requirements, provider context, and channel-list defaults. * Updated translation migration guidance, dependency and locale information, typed keys, formatter context, and translation-key mappings. * Clarified message pagination access, initial versus subsequent fetches, and channel and thread request-handler behavior. <!-- end of auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai -->
…API audit (#3328) ### Goal The v14 -> v15 breaking-changes audit (#3327) found public surface on master that v15 still declared but nothing read, plus a few v14 behaviors lost in the move to stream-chat v10. This PR removes the dead surface and restores the behaviors the maintainers wanted kept. One audit item was left out on purpose: porting the v14 fix #3305 (`b470bef37`). Stacked PR: this targets `docs/v15-migration-guides-alignment` (the guides PR), which is stacked on #3327. Merge those first; this PR's diff only makes sense on top of them. ### Implementation details Dead surface removed: - `MessageList`: `messages`, `hasMore`, `jumpToLatestMessage`, `loadingMoreNewer`, `messageLimit`. `VirtualizedMessageList`: `messages`. Both lists render and paginate the message paginator; these props were typed but never read. - `CustomClasses.chatContainer`, and `chatContainerClass` in `useChannelContainerClasses` (no `str-chat__container` element exists in v15). - The `ComponentContext.LoadingErrorIndicator` slot. No SDK component rendered it; the `LoadingErrorIndicator` component is still exported. - The dead `.str-chat__channel-list-inner` / `__main` SCSS rules, the commented-out `ChannelUnreadUiState` leftovers, and a stale `paginator.next()` JSDoc. `ChannelList` now calls `toTail` instead of the deprecated `next`; they are the same function. Exports: `useIsCooldownActive` (named in the migration guide) and `useMessagePaginator` (named in AGENTS.md and #3237) are now reachable from the package root. Behaviors restored: - `MessageList` shows the `LoadingIndicator` while an older page loads. Before, it showed only when the `loadingMore` prop was passed. `loadingMore={false}` hides it. The indicator turns on only when a tailward page can actually load, so it no longer flashes during a jump or a newer-page load. - Channel-list theme scope. A new internal `ThemeScopeContext` is provided by `ChatView`. Outside `ChatView`, `ChannelNavigation`'s root renders `str-chat <theme>`, and a bare `ChannelList` wraps itself in a `display: contents` scope element. Inside `ChatView` no nested `.str-chat` is added, because a nested one would reset token overrides set on the `ChatView` root, and the bundled examples' `.str-chat` sizing rules would match the list. `customClasses.channelList` is applied again. - The channel-detail "send direct message" and pinned-message actions call `useWorkspaceNavigation().openChannel`, so a custom `WorkspaceNavigationProvider` receives them (before, they worked only inside `ChatView`). With no navigation provider at all, each operation logs a one-time console warning; `defaultWorkspaceNavigation` itself stays silent. - The reply-count button honors `Message.openThread` again, by falling back to the message's `handleOpenThread`. - The gallery header renders a `ComponentContext.MessageTimestamp` override for items that carry their message. `GalleryItem.message` is new, and `ModalGallery` and the channel-detail media view fill it. `MessageTimestamp` renders from its `message` prop outside a `MessageProvider`, and still throws without the prop and the provider. Docs: `ai-docs/v15-breaking-changes.md` (BC-013, BC-019, BC-029, BC-045, BC-046, BC-047, BC-059, BC-073, BC-074 and the notes) and `ai-docs/ai-migration-v14-v15.md` are updated. The `api-surface` coverage check reports every gated change covered. Breaking-change marker: the removals are v14 API, so the branch has a `fix!:` commit with a `BREAKING CHANGE:` footer, per the AGENTS.md convention. The footer to keep in the squash commit: BREAKING CHANGE: `MessageList` no longer accepts `messages`, `hasMore`, `jumpToLatestMessage`, `loadingMoreNewer` or `messageLimit`, and `VirtualizedMessageList` no longer accepts `messages`; the lists render and paginate the message paginator. `CustomClasses.chatContainer` and the `ComponentContext.LoadingErrorIndicator` slot are removed. Inside `ChatView` the channel list no longer renders its own `str-chat <theme>` scope. See ai-docs/v15-breaking-changes.md (BC-019, BC-046, BC-047, BC-073, BC-074). Verification: `yarn lint`, `tsc -p tsconfig.lib.json --noEmit`, `yarn types:scripts`, `yarn validate-translations` and `yarn test` (281 files, 3090 tests) pass. `yarn build`, `validate-cjs`, `validate-esm`, `validate-entry-isolation`, and the tutorial and vite example builds passed before the rebase onto the guides branch, which brought in only docs and the api-surface script. The ai-chatbot example build was not verified: it hung locally in a sandboxed environment. The theme-scope change was not checked visually in a browser. ### UI Changes No intended visual change inside `ChatView`. Outside `ChatView`, the channel list picks up the design tokens again, as in v14. The `MessageList` loading indicator now appears while older messages load. No screenshots: the examples need Stream credentials to run. <!-- This is an auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai --> ## Summary by CodeRabbit * **New Features** * Gallery items can display message-specific timestamp overrides. * Reply-count buttons honor a message’s custom thread-opening behavior. * Standalone channel lists now inherit the chat theme, and channel-detail actions use workspace navigation. * `useMessagePaginator` and `useIsCooldownActive` are available from the package entry point. * Message timestamps can render with an explicit message outside a message context. * **Bug Fixes** * Message-list loading indicators and pagination behavior now reflect active page loads more accurately. * Workspace navigation warns when navigation actions are used without a provider. * **Breaking Changes** * Removed legacy message-list props and the `LoadingErrorIndicator` component override slot. <!-- end of auto-generated comment: release notes by coderabbit.ai -->
Goal
v15 moves message, thread, composer and configuration state into
stream-chatv10, and much of the v14 public API changed or went away along the way. Before the stable release we need one audited list of every break in the public surface (exported components, hooks, contexts, utilities and types, plus package, behavior, CSS and i18n changes) to serve as the source of truth for the migration guides and the docs update. This is the base of a stack: the migration-guide alignment PR builds on it, and the dead-surface cleanup PR builds on that.
Implementation details
ai-docs/v15-breaking-changes.md: 77BC-###entries in the same format as the v13 -> v14 audit (ai-docs/breaking-changes.md), grouped by area. Each entry has the old API, the replacement, evidence (release-v14:andmaster:file and line, commit / PR, corpus errors) and docs impact. It also has a coverage map (every diff item, corpus error, guide heading and!commit mapped to an entry or ruled out), a pending section for feat: adopt TS generator changes #3306, the v14 fix that was never ported (fix: put unread separator above system messages and stop scrolling the host page on scroll to a message #3305), and notes on inaccuracies in the existing guides.scripts/api-surface.mts(yarn api-surface dump | diff | check): dumps every export of everypackage.jsonentry point from a checkout (kind, signatures, props and members with a fingerprint of referenced types, prop defaults, literal constant values, package metadata, CSS classes and custom properties), diffs two dumps, and checks that every gated change is mentioned in the doc. Re-run it against later release candidates; the doc's "How To Re-run" section has the commands.release-v14vsmaster), the 564 code blocks of the v14 docs plus the v14 examples typechecked against v14 and v15 (only errors new under v15 count), every commit and PR description since the branch point, and source review for behavior changes. Drafting was split by area, and every entry then went through an independent adversarial verification pass against both branches.api-surface checkreports every gated change covered, every "After" snippet in the doc typechecks against v15 in strict mode (apart from placeholder variables), andyarn types:scriptspasses.stream-chat(LLC) changes are out of scope and are listed as ruled out with a pointer.UI Changes
