Closes #1196 and polishes Truncation behavior wich is now more clear!

TL;DR

The first release with discord-notify (v0.1.103) posted raw commit SHAs and plain (#1191) references to Discord. This change strips the SHAs, links the references, and cuts oversized bodies at the last complete changelog line with a [Truncated] link to the full release notes.

Verified

  • Ran the last 10 real releases (v0.1.94–v0.1.103) through the full pipeline and posted them to a test Discord server. All rendered correctly: SHAs stripped, PR references clickable, other lines untouched.
  • Synthetic 13k-char body: cut at a complete line, ends with ([Truncated](<release URL>)). No sliced Markdown links.
  • Bodies of 4000 characters or less pass through unchanged. A body where no complete line fits shows only the [Truncated] link.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Improvements
    • Discord release announcements remove leading hexadecimal commit identifiers from changelog bullets and link pull request references to their repository pages.
    • Announcement bodies of up to 4,000 characters remain unchanged. Longer announcements are shortened at a complete line and include a link to the full release, while staying within the 4,000-character limit.

📝 Walkthrough

The release workflow removes leading hexadecimal SHAs from changelog bullet lines and converts (#NNNN) references into pull request links. It preserves bodies up to 4,000 characters. Longer bodies are truncated at a complete line, with a link to the full release notes.

Explanation

Issue #1196 requires removal of commit SHAs and clickable (#NNNN) references. .github/workflows/release.yml removes a leading 7–40 character hexadecimal SHA from changelog bullet lines and converts each (#NNNN) reference to a GitHub pull-request link. The implementation satisfies the stated coding requirements.

Explanation

No functions found in the changed files to evaluate docstring coverage. Skipping docstring coverage check. Docstring coverage is scoped to functions touched by this diff. Analyzed 0 functions across 0 files. (1 skipped: 1 unsupported.)

Full details: Description check

Explanation

The description explains the changes, motivation, issue reference, and verification results. It does not use the template’s exact "## Description" heading, but it provides the required content. The optional AI Generated section is not required.

Full details: Out of Scope Changes check

Explanation

The PR also adds a 4,000-character line-aware truncation algorithm and a [Truncated] release link in .github/workflows/release.yml. Issue #1196 only requires SHA removal and clickable references. The truncation behavior has no stated connection to that issue and is an unrelated scope expansion.

Resolution

Remove the truncation changes from this PR, or link the truncation work to a directly relevant issue with coding requirements.
