Data audits

  • phreeqc-audit: consistency checker for the USGS PHREEQC databases. It found 230 errors across 48 files, plus a bug in PHREEQC's BASIC interpreter.
  • chnosz-obigt-audit: transcription errors in the CHNOSZ OBIGT and SUPCRTBL databases, found by G = H − TS closure and checked against independent sources.
  • polygraphia-nova: working emulator of Kircher's 1663 universal code book, with 394 printing errors catalogued.

Upstream fixes

Merged in Turso and music21. Open in uutils/coreutils and CHNOSZ.

Testing claims about old texts

Published claims re-tested with a stated null hypothesis and an exact p-value: codex-vergara (Aztec area arithmetic), solomon-decans, riddle-canons, dee-91-governors.
