Motivation
Java development CI downloads the agent from S3 but resolves
dd-openfeaturefrom Maven. After DataDog/dd-trace-java#12844 changed the gateway API, that combination fails provider initialization withNoClassDefFoundError: FeatureFlaggingGateway$ConfigListener, including in PR #7853's Java job.CI evidence
Datadog job history across all branches, October 19–26 shows the passing and failing executions of
System Tests (java, dev) / parametric / parametric (2).DataDog/dd-trace-java#12844 merged on October 26 at 10:59:02 UTC−04:00 (14:59:02 UTC). PR #7853's failing job used

Download
dd-openfeature.jaralongside the Java development agent from the sameLIBRARY_TARGET_BRANCH(default:master). Existing Java build support picks up the custom jar automatically. A failed provider download stops setup instead of falling back to an incompatible released provider. Java Lambda keeps its existing agent-only download.Validation
