Moves the project from MIT to GPL-3.0-or-later, starting with the next release.

  • LICENSE is now the unmodified GPL-3.0 text from gnu.org.
  • The previous MIT notice (Fadli Arsani 2025, DXVSI 2026) moves verbatim to LICENSES/MIT.txt. Releases up to and including 2.5.3 stay under MIT, and code from them keeps that notice. Every package installs it next to the GPL text: qmake install rules (Arch, Debian, RPM), the Flatpak manifest, and verify-package-contents.sh now requires it.
  • License metadata: GPL-3.0-or-later AND MIT AND BSD-2-Clause in the AppStream metainfo and RPM spec, the same three in the PKGBUILD and package.nix, GPL-3+ and MIT in debian/copyright.
  • README: new License section, and the device-image note no longer calls the project MIT-only.
  • .github/FUNDING.yml adds the GitHub Sponsors button. GitHub shows it once the file reaches production.

Checked locally: appstreamcli validate --pedantic passes, rpmspec reads the new license, check-release-contract.sh passes, make install puts all three license files in place, and nix eval of meta.license gives GPL-3.0-or-later, MIT, BSD-2-Clause.
