Two changes in this release are worth calling out:

-  Code links in example code blocks are now built as doctree nodes by a Sphinx
post-transform, instead of by rewriting the generated HTML with a regex. Many
names that previously went unlinked are now linked, and a few that resolved to
the wrong object are corrected. The ``reference_url`` option is deprecated and
ignored as a result.
-  Image scrapers named by string (e.g. ``"plotly"``) are now resolved before each
example runs rather than after it. Libraries that configure themselves on import
are therefore set up in time, which fixes them in parallel builds, whose workers
never read ``conf.py``.

Sphinx 7.3.0 and above changed caching and serialization checks. Now instead of passing
instantiated classes like ``ResetArgv()``, classes like ``FileNameSortKey``, or
callables like ``notebook_modification_function`` in  ``sphinx_gallery_conf``,
you should pass fully qualified name strings to classes or callables. If you change
to using name strings, you can simply use a function as the use of classes to ensure
a stable ``__repr__`` would be redundant.
