Two release items for 2.6.0, the same pair #1231 carried for 2.5.0.

The performance pair. v2.5.0 (ab7a8bd6, the 1957th) and 001b1caa (the 2549th, the last kernel change before the release), measured together on 2026-10-18. Both come from one run of benchmark_key_commits.sh, on one machine with nothing else on it. The new section sits above the 2.5.0 pair in version_performance_control.md.

BREAKING-CHANGES.md. ## Unreleased — since 2.5.0 becomes ## 2.6.0 — since 2.5.0, so the release notes' pinned link names the release. Every row in the section that mentions "the unreleased master" also states 2.5.0's value in its Was (2.5.0) column; this was checked.
