It doesn't seem they mentioned partial classes suggestion there, but that doesn't change that this still counts as a duplicate: it's just another suggestion / idea in the whole discussion about Picker candidate improvements. I mean you made a valid point, just that it should be discussed in the already existing threads.
I haven't thought about that yet; it's more of a topic for someone else (uBO creator / uBO team / devs / Cookie filter lists maintainers). |

Description
uBOL has a few very useful UI features that uBO doesn't have: you can remove a custom filter in a reverse-picker UI (it unhides everything and draws green boxes around all the hidden elements, useful for undoing a change without opening the file), and its picker UI has much more element attributes listed (often, element IDs are missing from the uBO picker UI, as well as many attributes such as aria- attributes and data- attributes, which are useful when blocking elements in sites such as Twitch that have many obfuscated class names).
It would also be very useful if there was a way to automatically partially block classes. For example, one of the classes of this very textarea I'm writing is
MarkdownInput-module__textArea__BRDa8. The bit tacked on is randomized and could change when the website updates, but the plaintext component is likely much more stable. To block it, you would puttextarea[class^=MarkdownInput-module__textArea__], ortextarea[class*=" MarkdownInput-module__textArea__"], depending on whether the class appears at the beginning or after a space. It would be very convenient if right/middle clicking a class in the picker UI searched for the most recent underscore or dash, and partially matched it. Another very useful trick in writing custom filters is:upward(n)`, and I would be very glad if a way to automate this were added to the picker UI, however I can see that being more difficult to cleanly implement than the partial class matching feature.Adding scriptlets directly by editing the custom filter ui textbox would also be very convenient, though I could see that being a possible security issue. However, I think it would be very useful if there was a UI to add localStorage/sessionStorage/cookies values with the relevant scriptlets, since it helps debloat very many websites in ways that could be tedious or impossible with custom filters. Maybe that UI should live entirely on the extension's popout window instead of being injected into the webpage, though.
