Hi,

I have imported the yfinance skill and added the connector and made sure it is enabled in Claude desktop. However upon asking any question to claude it is giving me this error. "Failed to call tool "yahoo_quote", "yahoo_stock_history"."

Can someone please assist me in figuring which configuration step i may have missed or performed incorrectly to fix this issue?

Hey @rahulsalot, here's a checklist that should help fix it down:

1. Check which MCP server you installed
   The tool names yahoo_quote and yahoo_stock_history suggest you're using one of the community MCP servers (like 9nate-drake/mcp-yfinance or mobatmedia/yfinance-mcp). Each server exposes different tool names, so make sure Claude is actually seeing the right ones. You can verify by clicking the "+" button at the bottom of the chat box → Connectors, it should list the yfinance server and its available tools.

2. Verify your claude_desktop_config.json
   Open your config file:
   Windows: %APPDATA%\Claude\claude_desktop_config.json
   macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json

It should look something like this (path depends on which server you're using):

Also I would suggest to fully quit and relaunch Claude Desktop (not just close the window, quit from the system tray/menu bar as well), since MCP servers are only loaded on startup.
