From afb6d0333f56e6f47410ec163bf8802ca54b9aaf Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: slayerjain Date: Fri, 23 Oct 2026 16:54:18 +0530 Subject: [PATCH] docs(flask-redis): say that Redis mocks need Keploy Enterprise The open-source keploy no longer records or mocks Redis: it passes Redis calls through to the real server in record and test mode and logs that they are skipped, with the Keploy Enterprise link. The README now says so, that `source keploy.sh` installs Keploy Enterprise, which records and mocks Redis with a free account, that with the open-source keploy Redis must run at replay, where tests that depend on the book_id counter can fail, and that it skips the committed test set's Redis mocks; to drop them, delete keploy/test-set-0 and record again. Every mention of mocks in the README, and its passing test runs, apply to Keploy Enterprise. "Keploy Enterprise" links https://keploy.io/docs/keploy-cloud/cloud-installation/, the page the open-source keploy's Redis warning links. The `source keploy.sh` command below installs Keploy Enterprise, and a free account is enough for it (free-tier runs are subject to a usage allowance). The open-source `keploy` (installed with `curl -O https://raw.githubusercontent.com/keploy/keploy/main/keploy.sh && source keploy.sh --oss`, the keploy/keploy GitHub release binary, or the `ghcr.io/keploy/keploy` image) passes the app's Redis calls through to the real Redis server in record and in test mode, records no Redis mocks, and logs that the Redis calls are skipped. With it, keep Redis running while `keploy test` runs; a test whose response depends on Redis data, such as the book IDs this app takes from a Redis counter, can then fail, because the app reads and writes the live Redis. The test set in `keploy/` holds Redis mocks, which the open-source `keploy` skips and logs as skipped. To drop them, delete `keploy/test-set-0` and record again.
