From ab96a78ec0c311c9ea1d37493b22f7561012f4a3 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: NITISH-R-G Date: Fri, 31 Jul 2026 18:25:47 +0530 Subject: [PATCH] Explain the accessibility permission before sending the user to Settings The audit's single biggest UX finding: BIND_ACCESSIBILITY_SERVICE is the scariest permission dialog on Android, the OS prompt explains nothing, and a first-time user has every reason to bail right there before ever seeing the product work. Tapping "Turn on ScreenSaathi screen reader" now shows a plain-language dialog first - what it reads (foreground screen, as text, never a screenshot, never background apps), where it goes (Sarvam's cloud service), and where to find the full accounting (docs/DATA_HANDLING.md) - before handing off to Settings. The user can back out with "Not now" with nothing granted. This is disclosure at the point of decision, not after it.
