Windows builds on conda-forge

Hello,

I'm encountering an issue when trying to install the latest version of wrf-python. When I run the command conda install -c conda-forge wrf-python, the most recent version available is only 1.3.4.1, which appears to support only Python 3.11. I was hoping to install a newer version to benefit from the recent updates and bug fixes that have been implemented.

I've attached a screenshot showing the error message I received during the installation attempt.
The python version is 3.12

Unfortunately, conda-forge is currently not building a windows build of wrf-python, see conda-forge/wrf-python-feedstock/issues/81 , so the most recent release is not available for the platform at this time.

Thank you very much for your response. I sincerely hope that in the future, the latest version of wrf-python will also be available for use on the Windows platform. :)

I can install wrf-python 1.4.2 in a Linux environment:

modeling2:/home/drews/MusicBox> conda activate musicbox
modeling2:/home/drews/MusicBox> conda install -c conda-forge wrf-python==1.4.2
taking a loooong time . . .
The install finally completes, and appears to accomplish what I wanted:
wrf-python-1.4.2 | 5.0 MB | ##################################################### | 100%

I am still encountering this issue as of July 15, 2026. What is the latest version of wrf-python that can successfully build using conda-forge? Is it still 1.3.4.1? Thanks.

I'm hoping to get to this, but light on bandwidth and familiarity with Windows.

If someone has a Windows system and would like to take a look - that'd be much appreciated.
